When I was in nursing school an older male nurse gave this advice: change jobs every 3-4 years. If you love the place you work, quit the hospital and make them rehire you for more money. Make yourself known and invaluable. He was one of the highest paid nurses that I knew and the few male nurses that worked at that hospital had also taken his advice. The long term nurses at that facility were making the same as the new grads.

New military nurse, BUT have been in the service for 20 years. Nothing prepared me for this. I've been attacked so many times by VA med-psych patients on our med-surg floor. Spit on, punched, kicked, disarmed a meth addict with a knife, got assaulted in the hallway off the ward, and had patients who swore they were going to come back and kill me (some described the weapons and ways). We call the military police but wth are they going to do besides fill out paperwork and ask if we want to press charges. I'm probably one of the last people you would want to fight, but it always seems to get worse when I show up. No matter how therapeutic I am. It got so bad that I hated going into work. Always worried I was going to hurt someone really bad. Hasn't happened in 3 months though so I'm all good for now

Really nervous about Cincinnati, not just the work, the area too. All alone in the big city lol. I'm trying to find a Crossfit or similar gym so that I can go during my NTP, any suggestions? Is there a class on base?

I'm in the Jan COT, then Cincinnati for NTP and will be stationed at Travis AFB. Is there a FB page for our COT date? I have seen prior classes do this. If so, can someone please direct me to it? Thanks, Benny

That is the same popup (exactly) that everyone in my class (graduated December 2012) has received and they have all passed (confirmed by later receiving their License #)
