  1. ner214, did you get a call for an offer today?
  2. Yes I precepted in the NICU! They did not say if it was for Feb but I am hoping it is! And yes they are still calling!! Stay hopeful everyone (: she said it will be a panel interview of 6-8 interviewers.
  3. Got a call today to interview with NICU next week! (:
  4. has anyone who interviewed received a call back yet?
  5. I also have an interview for the NICU!
  6. UC Davis is about 1.5 hours away without traffic from SF
  7. I have an interview for neonatal!!
  8. I also read somewhere that someone got a call for L&D!
  9. I also did my preceptorship in the NICU, I hope I get a call soon!!
  10. Definitely try and take 100W your first semester if you haven't because you don't wanna take it in your second semester of nursing school once it gets hectic. They might not offer it in the summer! I heard last summer they had to cancel it because not enough people enrolled. You also have the option to petition and take 100W later on but you have to go through a whole process to do so
  11. Definitely enjoy your winter break while it lasts and spend time with all of your friends and family before you go MIA in nursing school! Haha. First semester can be somewhat of a difficult transition but you have your classmates to support you through it all! Definitely get to know the people in your class and also think about becoming an officer for your class. It'll look good on your resume having this leadership skills in nursing school. And definitely become members of the various nursing clubs. You'll probably end up being involved in more than 1. First semester will go by really fast! I don't want to talk about any tips too much on here, but feel free to email/Facebook me! [email protected]
  12. Hi pre-nursing students! I'm currently in my first semester of the nursing program at SJSU and I remember being in your position around this time. Good luck to all of you, and can't wait to meet some of you next semester! Feel free to ask me any questions (:
  13. Actually it might be easier to find you guys by your emails.
  14. I know the creator! It is a closed group, so whoever wants to be added in just give me your names.
  15. I have family friends who are doctors, so they were able to get me my stethoscope. I got the Littmann Classic II S.E. one. For everyone who has Facebook, there's a group "San Jose State Nursing - Class of 2016" for us to chat easier.
  16. hey everyone, less than 2 weeks before school starts (: I bought all my books, and the skills kit + stethoscope already. Just gotta get my scrubs. See you all next week at the workshop!
  17. I think I would approach either Pathophysio or Pharmacology first. I heard the professor for Pharm is tough on knowing all of the drugs and stuff.
  18. I am also doing the same as NYC7.
  19. I'm in the process of getting all my books too! I want to start studying too...
  20. Skills lab is also w/ the skills lec which is under Nurs 53! I'm trying to get the 11AM lab too. First time ever that I'm going to have class on Fridays... But I guess it's a nice tradeoff since we don't really have classes on Monday (:
  21. My registration date is June 14th! How about the rest of you guys? I was planning on doing the early afternoon classes, but not the 8AM skills lab. Most likely the one at 11.
  22. I don't think I'm going to purchase the bundle from the bookstore. I'm going to buy all of them from Amazon & Half.com because there's a few books/course readers that we need to buy that aren't included in the bundle. I would only buy the bundle if I used ebooks but I don't... So yeah.
  23. I got in too! But I'm declining because I'm going to SJSU.
  24. I think they'll let us know when & where the workshop is later on. I've already done all my SJSU Studies too! There are some easy upper division GE classes so you just gotta look and read the reviews on the professors. 100W is an easy writing workshop too. I had Michele Bondi and she was very lenient & understanding on deadlines and other assignments. And we have to do the Health Statement from our doctor/physician by the New Student Workshop I believe. Don't purchase books from the sjsu bookstore! They're so expensive for all classes. I'm trying to find nursing students who have already finished with Semester 1 textbooks.
