a lot of students were talking negatively about me behind my back
I find as one of the ones in my class that was gossiped about the the ultimate revenge is doing the best that you can do and liking yourself for it. It used to bother me until a friend told me how silly I was being. People who gossip or tell tales about other people often feel threatened by a persons inner strength. They see something that they don't have and they are envious of what you have. They know that they are lacking and the only way for them even the score is to try to tear you down. Be content with who you are. Like who you are and don't give their talk another thought. As you succeed in your nursing career and be a great nurse there will be more of them. I suggest that they can just eat you dust as you pass them by. Remember that cream floats to the top. DKelly4972

Are twelve hour shifts too long?
What do you all think? Are twelve hour shifts too long? I did 12's for my precepting and liked that I only had to work 3 days a week, but I felt really worn down at the end of the shift. Is this a common phenomina and what to do? I got hired on about a month ago for three 12's nights and I am definately excited for the job. It will be hard to go to night shift work. Oh Well. Dkelly4972 Graduate in 1 day and 19 hours. But who's counting!

Salary to expect as a new grad nurse
I just signed on in Twin Falls ID and and there are lots of jobs here the latest posting on the hospitals web site had 13 RN positions for new grads and several of my classmates just got hired on in Salt Lake City UT at LDS and University on their first interview. Sound like lots of jobs here. I did clinicals at IHC in Burley ID and I loved the hospital. I just didn't hear back from them soon enough. Cost of living is low here, groceries are affordable and housing is deffinately cheaper here. I'm buying a 2000 sq. ft. house on 5 acres for $650 a month, but pay is lower. My starting wage is $18.78 an hour before diferentials.
