  1. Oh my goodness I got accepted too!!! Yay! I never received an email about it. I just had one of the biting faculty email me saying I noticed you just got accepted do you still want the spot! And my bear tracks changes! Is there that Facebook group?
  2. I am sending in my transcripts on Tuesday! I am from Yukon though. Does anyone know what the ratio of albertans to non-albertans applicant acceptance is? That has been my biggest issue i am running into! I applied to Dalhousie in Nova Scotia but since I'm not a martini we they only take 10% non martimers is it that low in UVA? I have a 3.72 gpa
  3. anyone take the four year direct route program?
  4. I realize they are very different disciplines but I feel like it ld a really good plan b incase you didn't get accepted. They are both in the musical field and about helping people so they are not that different but thank you for the input :)
  5. If so why did you change your mind ? Or do you plan to use it as you're undergrad ?
  6. Hopefully you get in this time!! I looked into TRU a bit aswell but I cant remember why but i decided against that one but at this point i dont wanna be picky id be happy going anywhere!! But from what i read it seemed like a good program!! this is my first time applying so hopefully it works out...so stressful !
  7. Ya I do not think I would personally go that route either by yeah it's a good option for others ! Im just starting to get really anxious its getting hard to stay focused on my classes now but I need to keep my grades up ! All I find myself doing is looking at scrubs online haha . Have you heard anything about unbc ? I har hear d more bad reviews than good but I have heard its really easy to get into
  8. haha i did mean grant macewan but thats okay!thanks for the information though ill let you know when i find out! i thought about applying to north island college but the good thing about viu is that is doesnt have a wait list! isnt north island college one of the schools though yes easier to get into they have up to two year wait lists?
  9. thank you ive heard good things about that program but its unfortunetly too late to apply now!ive aplied to ubco, grant macewan, calgary and viu! Ya i have heard that a lot of places have more clinical hours than calgary which worries me aswell! But ive heard good reviews from others recently done the program .
  10. Not the collaborative programs but the program in calgary? My friends really want me to go to calgary as they already go to school there but I dont want to make a decision based on where my friends are but on if the program is good, I know first year the students dont have any nursing classes so that kind of worries me..
  11. well depending on where up north im from the yukon and my mom is a nurse and Yes you are correctly about being paid well as they are paid one of the top wages in canada for nursing but like everyone has said i wouldnt just come up here for the money, you really have to enjoy snow, be able to handle -40 weather, and again prepared to pay a lot more for things since most of our food is shipped up everything is quite expensive . Not to mention housing costs have been insane and so buying a house unless you are already well off is most likely out of the question atleast for the next couple years. But the outdoors are beautiful and its a pretty safe place , I really enjoy living there :)
  12. i have! i did apply to that one but I've heard its extremely hard to get into so im not really getting my hopes up! have you applied there? Ive heard really good things about the program!
  13. holy thats a lot of applicants! VIU and calgary are my top choices but for calgary they dont do first year nursing classes its just general courses so im a little put off by that. im also really considering UBCO since they collaberate with UVIC. Ive heard BCIT is a really good program goodluck!
  14. im not sure that might be good to email them! I think it would it was 80 like uni but im not sure! what is you top choice for schools?
  15. yup i have called theirs advisers multiple times and sent countless emails so what i know so far is that even with post secondary education( which i have I am in my second year at another university) they only go off of high school marks. and I cant remember exactly but I am pretty sure the program holds 72 , maybe 74 applicants. The way they determine who is chosen is solely on those mark and ranked by your GPA so the highest 72 will be accepted. There is no early admission or and applicants do not get wait listed either; you either got in or not. In May when all the marks come in they send out letters (which is also when my friend found out). The adviser told me the average grades are normally around -A/A to get in. When I applied they sent me this booklet on the next steps and everything then i sent them my transcripts and then they sent me a letter saying they got them and they had everything they needed. Then I applied for residence and housing and paid for that so now its just a waiting game! The only thing that confuses me is that normal high school students do not get their marks until June so I do not know how that part makes sense unless they do by what you think your grades will be :S Are you applying directly out of highscool or post secondary?
