  1. I never ended up traveling but I spoke with Susan at Advantage RN for about a year. She was extremely knowledgable and had great follow up. She's been in the industry for over 15 years. If you want to talk more personal message me.
  2. I'm looking in to positions in that area for a January start date. So far I have only had an offer in Mesa, AZ. What company are you using?
  3. I work in Orlando, FL. It is nearly impossible to get an RN job here without a BSN. Orlando Health and Florida Hospital are the 2 major systems around here and they are both working on getting Magnet status. Orlando Health is where I work and I love it, but there have been recent MAJOR cutbacks in staffing and other changes that I'm not too sure how they work environment will be when this is all done. Florida Hospital is not having the same cutbacks from what I hear. Outside of Orlando I have heard great things about Tampa General in Tampa and Jackson Memorial in Miami. Good luck.
  4. I was looking in to Colorado also. Based on what a few recruiters told me, they don't take 1st time travelers so you will probably have to take a position in a different state 1st. I am hoping to travel/move there as well so keep in touch with your plans :-)
  5. Hello! I'm a 30yr old female cardiac stepdown/pcu nurse. Haven't started traveling yet but am currently talking to a few recruiters about it and I want to start soon. I'm basically willing to go anywhere for the right price. The reason I want to travel is 1. to pay off my student loans and 2. to have some amazing adventures. I'd love to find someone similar to travel with and would share a place to save money also. I like almost any outdoor activity and going out for good food and drinks. I'm not a wild party animal or anything, but I do enjoy socializing. I also like staying at home to watch movies or just hang. I've been working nights for the last year but I'm not sure what I will end up doing when I start traveling. I'm pretty laid back and get along with most people. If anyone is looking for something similar and would like to chat more about it, let me know. I don't know what pm is, but if you want to contact me my email address is [email protected]. --Angela
  6. I wish I could help you out, but I'm guessing they are looking for the same qualities as any other hospital.
  7. I have a friend who works there. This is so true. Go with Tampa General if possible.
  8. I work at ORMC (part of the Orlando Health organization) in downtown Orlando. I LOVE my job. Florida Hospital is another great system in Orlando. Orlando Health and Florida Hospital are both working on becoming magnet hospital systems. Avoid Health Central and Osceola regional!! I don't know what the pay is in the rest of the country, but starting pay for a GN here is around $22/hours. I'm an RN 2 and I make $23.65/hour with around a 30% shift differential for working nights. My take home salary is around $60,000 and I have decent benefits.
