  1. Does anyone know if RN students get their FA disbursed any earlier than regular students? The official date for summer term students is 6/10 with a disbursement date of the next Friday. That is going to be a rough wait money wise, and since most of us can't work I was just hoping there was something different for us.
  2. Kind of off topic, but I was wondering if anyone knew of any health insurance options for students? I have a policy that my job reimburses me for, at 158.00 a month, but that is obviously going to stop when I leave to start school. Anyone know of any programs, or just general info that could point me in the right direction?
  3. We will probably need to be studying, but I am also going to take the opportunity to work out at the fitness center to get ready to carry chunky patients around. Treadmill with my book open in front of me, sounds fun!
  4. Did anyone else notice the "perspective" student bit? Made me laugh, then get nervous.
  5. Even as a full-grown man I am not ashamed to say I bawled like a little baby when she died. That show was all laughs until they threw a curveball and kicked you right in the pants with something sad.
  6. I sent a request to you. Hope it isn't premature and I am actually able to snag a spot at North.
  7. So looks like North Campus for me.
  8. Thank you so much for the information! Does anyone know of anything to help with the math in the program? Some of us are borderline LD when it comes to numbers so any help would be fantastic!
  9. Good Morning All! I am currently just starting RN school, so I know that I am getting ahead of myself, but I am a little older at 32 so I want my planning to be pretty firm going forward. The last thing I need is to waste time! I have looked at all the various services, and have really felt a strong pull to join the Navy Reserve once I get my BSN and then serve while I pursue my MSN/DNP at least. The info I have found for my below question is ambiguous, and there is no Medical Recruiter within easy driving range for me, so I was hoping someone on this awesome board could help. Does anyone have a list of the disqualifying conditions for medical Officer candidates? I have ADHD and mild-depression that is well controlled through medication, and has been for over a decade, and it would be really disappointing to find out that I am out of the running before I even left the finish line. Much appreciation for any help you guys can provide. Thanks, Christopher
  10. Can't believe that mess about North Campus. As soon as someone finds something out please let us know!
  11. As a fellow male I can feel your pain on the shoe front, the shoes I've seen are ugly as homemade sin. Shox were suggested by someone on another board, and you can build your own all white leather version, but I am waiting for orientation before I buy them at $155.00. The link is below, and feel free to let me know of anything else you might run across. (side note, I have wide feet so it is a plus that I can order them in a wider width than the normal Nikes in store.) Nike Store. Nike Shox NZ iD Men's Shoe
  12. I am still walking on Cloud 9 from just getting in, but I would love to end up at a campus with all of us together.
  13. I know this isn't the right attitude to have, but WHAAAAAAA! They are so UGLY!
  14. Sounds like a great idea, has someone done it yet or should I? About the shoes, do they have to be 100% leather, or can they be mesh and leather athletic shoe? If so, then I am going with the all white Nike Free running shoes (similar to the picture, but all white instead of grey accent) especially since I already have several pairs already and know how awesome they are.
  15. HOLY BANANA CRAP! I just picked out the stethescope I wanted, go to check the prices, and WHAM 210 bucks... WHY MUST I HAVE SUCH REFINED TASTE!? haha
  16. I have been looking at scopes, scrubs, and shoes since December. One thing I suggest you go ahead and research now is a watch with a sweeping second hand motion, because supposedly we will have to get one. I googled them and found some on Amazon, but make sure the second hand has a smooth "sweeping" motion, not the tick-tock that is on most watches. Contrary to what I saw on some posts, Rolex is NOT the only maker of these types of watches, and there are plenty at reasonable prices. Personally I am looking for something that says "I'm a badass with a heart of gold." Don't know how lucky I will be... lol
  17. My dummies and I can be spotted at Snyder Park, with the big boy swimming frantically around the lake and me watching worriedly from the Doggie Beach. If you haven't been I really recommend it, especially since the beach is enclosed and they can run free and splash. Only caveat is if you are an uptight parent, then the mixed sizes and laid-back types who frequent that side might not be your cup of tea. :)
  18. Really? That stinks, I thought it was open to all students pursuing the in demand degrees who aren't working. Oh well, maybe someone else will benefit I hope.
  19. I am not sure if you guys know about this, but if you meet the requirements then they will help you pay for most of the ADN program at BC! There are a few hoops you have to jump through, so I highly recommend that you start now. I am doing the online Orientation as we speak, and hope to secure an appointment soon. Good luck guys and see you in April! Money for Training
  20. I got my reply email at 9 this morning, so I understand what you mean!
  21. That is true. It was one of the only benefits of going out there and spending a ton of money on that class. I do hear that ceufast.com is the cheapest choice for those that still need them.
  22. I hear all the cool kids are at 9:00 AM, just sayin...
  23. I got mine as well and replied. Orientation is 4/5 at 9 on Central Campus. It is my understanding from previous classes that the campus you have orientation has nothing to do with eventual campus selection.
  24. We will get an email to our BC address that we have to reply to within 24 hours to secure our seat. Congratulations!
