WGU RN to BSN book list
Hey nurses, I had a quick question about the WGU program: Is anyone able to provide a list of books that are used for the program? I'm trying to buy some of the books prior to class (use some 2022 CE funds before they expire), I know the ebook is included in the courses but I adamantly hate ebooks. I tried getting a list of books from the school but they weren't able to help me out until further in my registration process. This is a list of some of the courses I'll be taking: D236 Pathophysiology Applied Healthcare Statistics Interprofessional Communication and Leadership in Healthcare Intrapersonal Leadership and Professional Growth Scholarship in Nursing Practice Information Technology in Nursing Practice Organizational Systems and Healthcare Transformation Comprehensive Health Assessment Healthcare Policy and Economics Global and Population Health Emerging Professional Practice Thanks in advance!

Drugz
Thanks RN403! Yeah I was planning on paying close attention to the drugs that I come across but I wanted to see what to focus on prior to my first clinical. Thanks for the heads-up. I'll check out that app MurseH, thanks!

Drugz
Hey everyone, I'm in my third quarter and I'll be starting my hospital clinicals next week! I was wondering what the top 10-20 drugs I should make sure I'm the most familiar with prior to the clinical. Thank you in advance!

Resources for current students to begin studying
Thanks for all the help! I haven't asked my instructors their suggestions yet but we're on break now and I was going to in person when we get back. Some of the resources we have through the program are a bit all over the place on the material so I was trying to find something more concise (preferably online).

Resources for current students to begin studying
I'm probably a glutton for punishment (I am in nursing school so that's definitely true) but I was wondering what would be helpful to get a jump on studying for the NCLEX while in nursing school. I just finished the first quarter so although I know 150% more than I did before starting the program, I'm certainly far from having the full knowledge to take the test. Any assistance would be helpful! On a side-note, I do plan on purchasing the Saunder's review book (6th edition I believe) so I will have that as another resource. Thanks in advance!

Fall 2014
I'm in the program as well @jdcline03! I haven't heard anything beyond the offer and then the confirmation that they received my acceptance. I've been considering emailing the nursing admissions coordinator to find out what our next step is but didn't want to bug them if they're still sorting things out...

Fall 2014
We're on the quarter system, ends mid-December (I think) then winter quarter from Jan-March and spring quarter from March-June(ish)

Fall 2014
I found out on the same day (July 25th) and start on September 29th! What school did you get into MrsSmith?? I got into Lake Washington Tech in Kirkland, WA

Seattle Central Community College Fall 2014
I also applied to this program, good luck to all of us! Where else have people applied/plan to apply. I applied to Bellevue College and plan on applying to Lake Washington IT as well as Tacoma CC (providing that they actually have a program/post their application soon!)

Nursing Schools in the Seattle Area Winter 2014
Thanks! Yeah that's the only one I applied to this quarter. If I don't get in then I'm just going to save up a bit more money and apply for several in the Fall.

Nursing Schools in the Seattle Area Winter 2014
Well I just sent my application to LWIT today! I have been speaking with a number of people at my work (I work at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance) including nurses and NPs regarding that certification. It sounds like many hiring managers (at least in the Seattle area) aren't so picky about the national certification but they do look for students that are going to pursue RN to BSN programs. That is another thing to consider when looking at these programs, I've heard it's much easier to secure a job if you are already enrolled in an RN to BSN program. Just another thing to think about!

Deciding which school is best for my future Nursing plans
Where did you find out they are accredited jaycam? I corresponded with the admissions counselor and knew they were working on it but never heard they got it.

Nursing Schools in the Seattle Area Winter 2014
Hey Kristiesin, I was wondering if you found out anything after attending the information session...I have attended one already but didn't ask about the accreditation. Based on a number of different factors, LWIT is currently the only school I plan on applying to this Spring (Shoreline due to the competitiveness: similar grades as you mentioned, Tacoma CC has discontinued their Spring program, and I failed to attend a nursing information session for Everett CC in due time...) and I hope to not have to wait until the fall to begin school. Any further information would be helpful!

Nursing Schools in the Seattle Area Winter 2014
I know that Washington IT and Shoreline are both on the points system but I'm not sure about Everett. There are a few of them that start Winter and Spring (some possibly Summer too?) but I personally missed out on the Fall applications.

Nursing Schools in the Seattle Area Winter 2014
Hey everyone, I'm going to be applying to a few schools this coming winter and was wondering what the difficulty of acceptance was like, the difficulty of the program and what type of work (if any) current or previous students have had. I am applying to Lake Washington IT, Tacoma CC, Shoreline CC and Everett CC. I'm also considering working as a CNA during the program, just completed my certification class but need to take the test. Any information on these programs would be greatly appreciated!
