Hey, congrats! Yes I guess I am a native, been here more than 10 years now. Oak Lawn is great and close, I used to live there. Lower Greenville is good too especially if you like the club scene... theres also the Bishop Arts district, Lakewood, and Deep Ellum depending on what you're looking for. Have you heard anything from them since the email offering the position? I'm still waiting on an official offer letter or orientation info or SOMEthing... I guess the holidays are holding things up?

Yes, I was a tech on a med surg floor for a year and then a nurse extern in an ICU for a year and a half during school. They didn't really seem to care about that, but they liked that I did my senior capstone overnights in another SICU. I really think they were looking for a good fit more than anything. We spent a lot more time talking about the questions they asked then my experience.

Never heard anything from Burn ICU, but I accepted an offer for SICU on Saturday! Good luck everyone!

When I interviewed for burns they said they are hiring for 2-3 spots, but I don't know how many people we are competing with. I also interviewed for SICU and haven't heard anything from there either, but I think they are hiring 8 out of the 75-80 people they interviewed. Fingers crossed!

I'm finally done with my application to the Dallas campus! I took my TEAS V on Monday and I just called to verify they had received the results as well as my updated transcripts from the summer. From now on its just keeping my fingers crossed until November! It's a strange feeling to not be enrolled in any classes this semester. I put all my grades in to their calculator and it looks like I'll have a 3.9 GPA. All A's except a B in English 1301 from 13 years ago, ugh. I have 4/4 preferences and I ended up with a 93.3% on the TEAS. Good luck to everyone! I hope to meet those at the Dallas campus in January!

Hi! I'm in the same boat as you are, going to apply for TWU's spring 2014 class :) If you go to their nursing school website you can download an excel spreadsheet where you can enter your classes and look at exactly what they will judge you on. All of the prereqs are on there and counted towards GPA. You get preference points for finishing A&P 1&2, stats, and micro with A's on your first attempts. When I spoke with the admissions counselor she said that competitive applicants have a 3.7+ GPA, over an 85% on the entrance tests, and at least 2 out of the 4 preferences.
