  1. Hi ladies, sorry for the extreme late reply. Yes, I live in Jamaica, ny. I came to ny when I was 11, and moved back and forward.
  2. This is so great to read all of y'all experiences. I went to college at la inter., and I don't feel like they prepare you for the nclex what so ever. I've taken the nclex four times and no luck. I just paid to register again. Btw in the state of New York...I'm really loosing hope, and I'm just tired and scared. I tried a few reviews, last one being kaplan...im considering hurst...good luck to all
  3. Yes, graduated in December 2009, took the nclex for the first time in June 2011. May I ask why you sound so surprise?
  4. Hi, I went to la inter de arecibo. I can't agree with you more of how unorganized they are! I finished college in December 2009. After passing la rebalidad, which is ridiculous how they offer it, I had my official license from Puerto Rico around December 2010. During that time I moved from pr to fl, to fl to ny. Which is where I've been trying to get my liscence. It was alot of paperwork. I Had to get certified in a whole bunch of things, get a notary, pictures, I even think finger prints. That whole process lasted until May 2012. Then in June of 2011 was my first attempt at taking the nclex...there is nothing from la inter that prepares you for this test! I will be taking the nclex for the 4x in November. Lots of work, but please don't give up! I hope that you are able to get this soon since I noticed that you posted in September. I hoe this helps you, good luck!
  5. Hi rn2135, four days of class in person. And of course as long as it takes me to finish their online review, that's what they offer, let's hope it works. Thank you
  6. Wow. ..your giving me such a great motivating! I took my nclex in September 16th for the third time, and I failed. I found a last minute review course with kaplan starting Monday. Is a 4 day class and of course online access to all their material. I just have so much faith that this is what will help me pass. Thank you, and congratulations!
  7. Thank you so much,. I was a bit hesitant about kaplan, but now I'm excited. ..I can't wait for Monday to start. Do you all think four days is enough time to go through it?
  8. Thank you for the reply, very helpful!
  9. Hi everyone, I failed the nclex 3x. I'm very motivated to take it very soon again. I just had a question for all of those who failed it and passed it eventually. When the ncsbn sends you the letter, and you can see how you did; below passing, near passing or above passing. In order to pass, are you supposed to have all categories above passing? Or is it a mixture of maybe one near passing and most of them above passing? I'm just wondering because if someone was to have all above passing, would it mean that they had a perfect score?.. and if I'm not mistaken you just need a 70% or more to pass. So there fore you can pass the test with a near passing category. I hope this makes sense... I'm just trying to compare my previous results. I had a few categories where I performed above passing level, which I'm pretty proud of, and then I had the medications category which I performed below level... any way I hope that I expressed my self and that some one can help me understand that part. Thank you all.
  10. Thank you for the post. I failed my nclex 3x... first time I used feuer review, second time I can't really remember, I was so busy in other aspects of my life. This third time I studied sooo much, I used saunders. I understood the questions much better than the other times. I don't understand what I did wrong, but I bet it was those lab and med questions. That was on September 16th. I found a last minute kaplan review course in my area, and going for it, I really hope that it would help me pick the right answer,. I will still use saunders for content.
  11. Thank you all. I'm going to give a fair try to kaplan, but I will look through my feuer review books. ... maybe this time I will get it....and I agree about the medications, so important to have that right before going in.
  12. Wow. .I just posted about this too. I just found out I failed my nclex on my third attempt Monday. I'm devastated. ...I want to take a review course, hurst or kaplan... they ate both happening at the same time in my town. which one? I did take the feuer my first time, and I didn't think it helped me... but I hear good things about it. ..
  13. Hi Everyone! , I'm in desperate need of help. I just found out that I failed, on my third attempt. .. I'm a nursing student from Puerto Rico, trying to get my license in New York. The first two times that I took the test I did not feel prepared at all. I was working as a manager in retail and did not have my priorities straight . That was 2011 and 2012...I took the test a year apart. This year I finally got a much relaxing job where I was able to concentrate on my studies. I used saunders, which I love, helped me so much with content. Nclex 3500 and ncsbn. I knew that I needed reinforcement on medications and lab's. ..wich I swear I thought my test was 50% just that. I'm not giving up. ..I just need to know wich review would be better. They are both happening at the same time in my area, and I need to pick one. Which one do you all recommend for someone in my situation? Thank you so much. Please give me advise soon, I need to register today!
  14. Thank you for your advise. I think I decided that I'm going to look into hurst, and take a kaplan online review. 8 wush I could do it live, but I can't miss much work. What do yall think ?
  15. Thank you. You too, please do let me know how you did. All we can do is try and never give up. The day that we give up is the day that we failed.
  16. Thank you both for the responses. I have a few things that I can count as to why it has been so difficult for me. I graduated nursing school in Puerto Rico. Took the test there twice. It's a different test. I have my license from Puerto Rico. Then I moved to New York. I was an assistant manager at a very stressful retail store. . The first two times that I took the test I did not feel like I have it my 100%. First time was in 2011 And second time 2012. I guess I wad scared, so I waited to take the test. I finally got a much better relaxing job where I was able to study. I used saunders, ncsbn, nclex 3500. I didn't find the test difficult, but I did had lots of medications questions that I wad not ready for. I already re schedule my test for the beginning of November. I just don't want to give up. Btw I was never the best test taker. Thank you for hearing me out.
  17. I just need some support. I studied the whole summer. On the day of the test I felt very confident...but then I did the pvt and started thinking that I failed, which I confirmed today. I think that I need to work on my medications. I already re register, and I'm planning on taking it at the beginning of November. Im not giving up, I keep on telling my self that I have nothing to loose but plenty to win. Please if anyone can tell me a similar situation it would be great. I just need more motivation. Thank you
  18. Thankyou for the advice !, when you Mentioned the amount of questions, wad that weekly?...like 600 weekly right
  19. Thank you everyone, this really helps!..I tried a kaplan review book on my second attempt and It didn't satisfied me. ...but again I was at a stressful job, that unfortunately took too much of my time. This time I'm giving it my 100%, not worrying about my new job at all. ...I will take a look at the Kaplan questions, and do plenty of questions from both sources.
  20. Thank you for your respond, very helpful! I graduated a few years in Puerto Rico, so after going through all the hassle of paperwork, I was able to take the nclex. Because of other personal problems and work I was never able to focus the way that I am now (I failed it twice). I finally feel more confident, and I haven't schedule my test yet. ..I will schedule it today probably for September 20. My plan is to finish the text book within two weeks (I'm on chapter 60) and the next two months just do about a 100 questions a day. .or as much as I can. Thank you again, it makes me feel more confident that other students had such a great outcome using this book.
  21. Hi everyone! I was just wondering if any one has used the saunders nckex rn review lately. ..with the new 2013 examination? Has anyone passed with this review? Thank you
  22. So I have my licensed from Puerto Rico, trying to pass the nclex in New York. Am I consider a foreign nursing student?...and if so how is that affecting my chances of passing the nclex? ...and what do you all recommend me to try? Since I was eleven, I traveled back and forward...I really don't want to believe that it can be a language barrier..since obviously English is my second language.
  23. Completely agree...pretty harsh. I'm a horrible test taker, but I can't say that all my nursing colleagues have the same passion for the profession as I did. Don't give up. You'll pass it and I will too.
  24. Hi everyone!.. So as i keep on studying for my third attempt to take the nclex I realize that I'm a good visual learner. I am studying to the core the Saunders review, which so far the information it's very accurate to my past experiences with the nclex. If any of you study this, you will agree with me that chapters nine and ten are crucial. Or at least I know that they came up in my past nckex experiences; but for some reason I am not absorbing the information. I don't want to memorize the information, I want to learn it! I know that I will be able to answer any ph, acidosis, alkalosis, ekg,etc questions, if I can just understand it better. That was also my weakest subjects in college. Please if any one has some power point, or video related to the subject I will gladly appreciate. Thank you.
  25. Hello everyone! Can i please get that review sent to my email too. If there's anything that will help me pass the nclex...i want it (it will be my third time taking it). [email protected] .that is so admirable, to share any helpful information with everyone. Wish me luck!
