I am just starting in a burn center in surgery....thank you for the info. I have been looking everywhere to get a little knowledge before I go to work...My only concern at this point now is my reaction to the burn patients... I want to comfort them, not with sympathy but empathy and I'm not sure I can pull it off....Any suggestions.
I was once told of a web site that was wonderful that taught ACLS to prepare you for Certification of Recertification, but I no longer have the site info does anyone know of free web site...Thanks:
I started traveling at 47 with my husband who is retired. We travel in an RV and while I'm at work he keeps busy talking with locals and finding out the best places to visit that the area offers. So even though you are only there 13 weeks, you have seen more than most locals do in a year. I guess you can say his job is the social director. It works great for us.
Go easy on yourself. Ive been in surgery for 24 years and I can assure you I have seen Coulda, Woulda, Shouldof's in all areas of the OR from every health profession. But always realize with each new day comes another opportunity to give the best care to your patients that you can and that is the continual gift of the health care professional.
