  1. Hello all! I will be entering the program in the January cohort. Wanting to know what books I need to purchase? Please advise!? My family is asking for things I want for Christmas and I want to give them soem great ideas
  2. So i called to day to make sure they had received my transcript for a class I took this spring semester. I was put on hold and then a diff lady picked up and said " hi this is -----, thank you for calling did you get.my message from yesterday." Unfortunately I never received any message or call yesterday on my phone (believe me my eyes were glued to it all day, i figure it was a problem with my carrier...typical). Nevertheless, she said i was accepted! Hang in there everyone! And good luck to you all! Congrats to all those who have already been accepted, I can't wait to meet you in September.
  3. Congrats to those who have already received acceptance! Quick question, I had my interview April 1st. Does that put me at the back of the pack or somewhere in the middle as far as when interviews were conducted? I see some people saying they had interviews in Feb/March. I was contacted mid March but was set up for interview on 4/1. I am sitting here driving myself crazy and petrified about not receiving "the CALL" which i want so bad. I sure hope we are hear something before the weekend. Hopefully we can all meet in September in Roc!
  4. Hello to everyone! I'm glad I am not the only one sweating bullets waiting to hear. I am so nervous, but excited. I am currently taking the Fasttrack Nutrition course through UofR. Anybody else past or presently? I must say it will be a big adjustment. Temps in NC this past weekend were 80s, in Rochester 40s!! Can't wait to hear. Good luck to everyone!
  5. Hello everyone! I was just called for a phone interview. I live in NC but my fiance's mom is moving back to Rochester so I'm excited about the prospect of living with her, if I get in. A part of me is freaking out though, is a phone interview bad? Or are they doing it as a courtesy so I won't have to travel? Most other schools I've heard invite students to interview AT the school. Has everyone else at interviews in Roc or by phone? I'm panicking inside. Help!?!
  6. No news here either, the waiting it driving me batty. I am driving my self crazy fretting over this admission decision. UNC is and always has been my dream and my #1 choice! I got waitlisted for Duke and was crushed and became even more worried about my acceptance chances to UNC. Here are some bulletpoints about my academics/experience. I'm a 2nd degree student B.S. Biology, minor Psychology, 6+ years of clinical experience working as a CNA in rural and private health clinics, Volunteer work and co-coordinator for farmworker health program. I wish everyone the best of luck and i hope that everyone who has posted if offered admission :) good luck to all my fellow nurses :)
  7. I have applied to Duke ABSN, UNC-CH BSN (2yr), John Hopkins Fall ABSN, MUSC ABSN.I want to know if I have a good chance or any chance of getting in. I was planning on going to PA school but decided that it way not the way I wanted to go. My heart is set on nursing.I graduated from Campbell University with a B.S. in Biology/pre-med curriculum and minor in psychology. GPA 3.11. I worked almost full time (32hrs) during the school year and full time during the holiday breaks at a rural family care practice as a CNA. I had to help support my mom who is disabled and younger brother. I also helped co-coordinate the farmworker program at my job, which we saw migrant farmworkers at our practice on thursdays and we would go to the camps and do bp checks and immunize. Also do part time volunteer work (100 hrs/yr) with SPCA, Komen Foundation and USO. I now work at a private family practice as a CNA/med tech. I have logged over 14000 clinic hours. Anybody have any insight or suggestions on my chances?
