  1. I personally have not traveled in Vegas but another travel RN told me her experience. She was working med surg and the nurses would take 8-10 pts. One night the 2 staff rns took 8pts a piece and gave the traveler 4 pts. She thought they were being nice but no. She got the first 4 admits before they took one. She said that's how it went for that contract. She did not renew contract obviously.
  2. I am only on my first travel assignment. I have been treated great. In fact I am asked every shift if "I'm going to sign on permanently yet?" I have heard rumors about some hospitals around me and how they treat travelers. I am staying away from them if I can.

  4. Yes I am travel nursing and stay in a mobile home park with my 5th wheel. I did not want to chance the housing I might get. I have heard a lot of bad stories about the "supplied housing". I love the privacy and freedom.
  5. I agree. A review of the Code of Ethics for Nurses should be reviewed when you are feeling like this. It is a small world and your past does follow you. Integrity is a great asset and will carry you far if you let it. Two week notice is only 6 more shifts. Do the count down and be proud you stuck it out.
  6. Yes. I am organized and get my work done and get out on time as well. I am getting my BSN online. So on my down time I am doing homework. I sit outside of patient room with the WOW or COW whatever it is called....computer on wheels and answer lights as needed. Other nurses populate at nursing station and talk on their down time. They often come to me and check on me to see what I'm doing and try to get me involved in their conversation or have me go do different sorts of tasks. It seems to upset them that I don't go and BS with them. To me it is a waste of time. Me doing homework after my work is done and them sitting around talking......it's all "a waste of time", I would rather "waste" my time doing something productive is all.
