  1. I am an RNFA. I finished my certification about a year ago. The course does little to prepare you for the business end of it. I assist for the doctor I work for as an office nurse. (Gynecologist). You need to start now and get an NPI and a Tax identification #. In my area RNFA's are not used as much, so the physicians have there office nurse trained to assist. You will need to contract with the physician. The non paying cases are just that non paying. You can bill the patient for the allowed amount, and they will hopefully pay. No I do not have a Medicare provider ID, they only credential advanced practice nurses with an RNFA
  2. Is an occupational nurse the same as a clinical nurse specialist?
  3. As an office nurse and RNFA, I am the one answering those voice mail's. I do triage according to importance and also according to the time I have available. If I have only a min or two between my cases then I send the refills requested. I try to call back sick calls a soon as I can but some people are VERY long winded. My problem/request to anyone leaving a message 1. Leave ALL the information requested. 2. If its a refill don't call me to ask if its done before you check with the pharmacy, because now I have made 2 phone calls for one request and that time adds up. 3. GET TO THE POINT!! No useless information.
  4. A Christmas bonus check ?
