thanks Bdoll_RN! So earlier someone mentioned the cost of parking… is it safe to say that if I locate near a bus route I can typically rely on the buses and not usually have to drive? Also, what about Friendship, or Bloomfield? I really appreciate all the input!

And how early do the buses run, when I interviewed up there I think the earliest was 0600 but I can't recall. I am so excited to meet you all! I also have some info for anyone that is wondering… I spoke with Laurie Jo today, we are all being automatically enrolled in our classes at the end of this month so no need to worry about that.

I am moving from out of state, and am looking for recommendations on where to live. so far I know shady side, squirrel hill… any recommendations on where NOT to live? I am moving by myself, just looking for a one bedroom/studio townhouse or apt. any help is appreciated. thanks!

Hello guys! I'll be starting in Jan 2015 as well! I am moving from Florida, heading up there soon to look for a place to live. Do you all have any input on housing? Ill be living alone, looking for a one bedroom or studio. I don't really mind how far away from campus I will be as long as it won't be terrible to get to class/clinical (I have never lived in the snow before). Thanks guys, and congrats!!

Thanks for the article wtbcrna! I have read another one on the AANA journal that breaks down all of the different degrees in respect to anesthesia... that's what made me really start wondering exactly how it would progress the CRNA's role. The more I research, the more I think it would benefit me to just go ahead and get the DNP over with! Do you have a DNP?

Hello all, I have recently gotten invited to interview at University of Maryland for their CRNA/DNP program. This is their first DNP Anesthesia class. I have reached out in my community to shadow/interview an anesthetist with a DNP, and have found that unfortunately there are not many around me. I am wondering if any CRNA's or DNP (of any specialty) students here could give me their perspective on working with a DNP, not solely in education. I want to know what you do, realistically. All of the data and articles I have read point that it is a terminal nursing degree based on application of research, but I am looking for how that is applied in real world practice. Thanks for your input!

Hey guys... Im trying to finalize my application for UofM CRNA program and have run into a few roadblocks. It seems like there has been some confusion in switching the reqs on the website from the MS to DNP program. Is anyone positive what the essay topic is and how many letters we need? I found 2 different reqs on the site, and have an email out to clarify. When I called, the receptionist wasn't sure if the application had been switch from the MS link to the DNP link yet, and also wasn't sure if the essay due was regarding strictly DNP practice as listed on one link, or a "why anesthesia" topic that I also found. Any help is appreciated, the deadline is coming up!
