  1. Best of luck to everyone hoping to start in the fall! I'm finishing the accelerated BSN program at UF this August and am selling my textbooks. I'll be graduating first in my class, and will toss in all of my study guides as well. I have every book from the initial package, Mosby videos, and extra books they require in later semesters. I spent about $1600 on everything and it is all in perfect condition. If interested, email me an offer or ask questions at [email protected] (I don't check this site as much as I used to). Thanks and good luck, future gatoRNurses!
  2. Hope orientation went great! I'm still looking to sell my entire book bundle plus fall and spring books that weren't included. Asking $1200 but am willing to negotiate. Email me at [email protected] if interested. I'll also include my personal notes and study guides, which haven't let me down so far. Thanks!
  3. Congrats to those of you have been accepted! I'm in the current accelerated class (graduating in August) and will be selling my books if anyone is interested. It will include the entire bundle that they sell you first semester (~$1200) plus additional books you have to buy in future semesters (~$600). All the books are in perfect condition (I'm not one to write in books) and I'll sell them for about $1200 total. Additionally, I'll include pdf versions of some books and some study guides that I made. The only book I'll be hanging on to is my NCLEX review- I'll part with everything else in May. Email me at [email protected] if you're interested (I'm not on this site often). Also, feel free to email me if you have any questions about the program- I'll give you honest answers about my experience. :)
  4. Hey Trinity, I'm in the same boat. I scanned and emailed my confirmation of acceptance in and nothing has changed on ISIS. My hubby said it might be because I've already attended UF in the past so maybe all my immunizations are up to date? Not really sure, but I wouldn't stress about it!
  5. Accepted! My hubby was so excited that he opened it and called me right away. :) Congratulations everyone!
  6. Awesome idea! Here goes: Q: Favorite Food? A: Chocolate! (Trying to be a lot healthier though- LOVING Trader Joe's) Q: Favorite hobby outside of nursing? (We are going to need these to keep us sane next year!) A: From my username- cave diving. Q: Birthplace? A: Ohio Q: Current residence? A: Gainesville Q: Type of nursing you want to pursue? A: Eventually ARNP in dermatology/family care. Q: What made you want to pursue nursing? A: I wanted a career where I can work in a variety of settings, love my job, and have a family.
  7. When I met with one of the program coordinators this summer, I was told that they admit around 60-65 students for the program. I also tried to shadow some nurses, but it's pretty close to impossible here in Gainesville. I'm not sure why it's so much easier to shadow a doctor than a nurse? I ended up shadowing a surgeon in Ohio, who let me spend a lot of time with the nursing staff; it was really important to me since I have no prior nursing experience and I wanted to make sure I would be a good fit for such a demanding field.
  8. Best of luck to everyone! I also applied to the program and am very hopeful, but I suppose we'll see how it goes.
