  1. I'm about to take a unit secretary class through the program that the hospital sponsors, is it going to be hard to work part time and study full time in school? I have 4 classes. Physiology, history, speech, basketball, business. Basket ball isn't really considered to be a unit, but it's a way for me to take the stress of things.
  2. With the physiology this semester, and I'm taking an accelerated speech class and history class. I think it can be done, but I haven't started yet. Anticipating lots of flash cards and study sessions with peers :)
  3. I'm taking physiology this spring semester. Got couple of notes in advance for study. Add me
  4. No, I wanted to know the boundaries of how far I can shadow a nurse, more of like the ethics portion of it.
  5. Thanks Alexandra. Didn't know there's this much in the hospital. Currently I'm volunteering at the medserg and telemetry, actually their combined. What semester are you in?
  6. I currently volunteer at a hospital and I was assigned in the telemetry to answer phone calls from patient and staff, basically to alleviate some tasks of the unit secretary. So far it's been chill, but my counselor and mentor told me about shadow nursing. What are some things that I can do aside from observing and shadowing the nurse? Have any circumstance happened that you really appreciated from a volunteer?
  7. I'm currently a nursing student at a local community college, I'm not too familiar with the divisions in the hospital. So far I know that there is ICU tele and obygnie, what are some others and why is it so great working there?
  8. Hi Ruby, was there an incident that happen that posting your name is detrimental to your status ?
  9. Hi guys, From the articles that I've read, it shows that there is a growing Hispanic population in the U.S. (and other countries as well). Does this mean that we have to prepare ourselves to learn how to speak Spanish, or it's only optional? Would it boost your acceptance towards a school of your choice??
  10. Hi everyone, I'm a pre-nursing student currently taking my prerequisties in a local community college. I've read several articles from Allnurses and ANA, which was really great. I've learned that Nursing has a rising trajectory of jobs in the future, really awesome. A job that I'm looking forward to work in that offers opportunities! Is there any articles that you would recommend for prenursing students? Would really appreciate it. Cheers!
