I volunteer at Children's hospital and I had to fill out an application, have two people fill out a provided recommendation form, have three other references to be contacted by phone, proof of immunizations, TB paperwork (no test though), and a background check then an interview and placement. I chose child life and go once a week for 4 hours or a little over.

Yes I love it, especially since my goal is pediatric nurse practitioner :)

I go sit with the children to allow their parents/caretaker breaks, bring them toys/crafts, play with them, or take them to the playroom if their able. I also clean toys and the playroom. While doing all this you interact with the nurses and see how they work. I love it!

Volunteering at a hospital will definitely help you get your feet wet. I'm currently volunteering at Children's hospital as a child life volunteer, and you learn a lot just from seeing how the floor works.

4 week biology: A 8 week sociology: A Have finished 36 credit hours with a GPA of 3.91! A lil over half way done with pre-reqs!

Finally finished my second summer class an 8 week sociology with an A, after finishing 4 week gen bio with an A! 36 credit hours with a 3.91gpa! A Lil over half way done with pre-reqs!

Final grade in general biology 4 week course was a 99 :) now to focus and finish 8 week sociology course (4 weeks left) with an A i hope!

Just took ap1, english comp, music appreciation, and statistics this past semester. It was hard but. If you spread out your studying you will be fine!

Thank you for the replys. Really want to keep from doubling up on sciences so I can really focus and not be overloaded. Going to call Monday to talk to my advisor and make sure my financial aid would pay for it and then register. It would be my only class this summer.

I'm fixing to begin my second semester of pre reqs, last semester I took ap1, stats, english1, and music. This semester I'm taking ap2, english2, physc, public speaking, and computer apps. Was going to pair micro and reg bio together but can't. I need to take general biology first. How hard is it and the lab? It is a four week course 4 days a week lecture and 2 days a week also lab. Should I go for it?

A and p is very time consuming, but worth it. I would suggest recording your lectures, which helped me. Also review daily instead of craming studying in all at once.
