scoring low on the practice test, what should I think?
Ok guys,I take my teas on Saturday. This is the second time I have taken it since June. I applied to fresnos program and got accepted!! But I must pass the teas with at least a 62%. When I took it in June (applying at the time for a different program) and got a 60%. What really sucked was there minimum passing score was also a 62%. Very frustrating!! Anyhow, I have been studying to retake it for about a month. I have had a tutor. I have the ati book, and practice test, as well as the McGraw Hill 5 teas practice test book. I have taken both of the online practice test and have done horribly :-( I got a 56%and then a 60%. I'm bummed because I have been studying my ass off, and am scoring similar to that from before, and I know that I know more and can and should do better. When I do the test in the McGraw book, I average higher, at around 70-76%. Is it just me or are these practice test made to be that much harder then the real test? What do you guys think? I need some words of encouragement, I'm stressing REALLY bad, and my test is Saturday. Thanks guys! Andrea

Keep trying, or give up :(
Wow I must say, all of you are awesome to read from. I really needed to here other nurses and nursing student prospectives. I'm going to keep trying,I can't give up I've gotten this far right? So the colleges I'm applying to are Cuesta college San Luis Obispo, and Allan Hancock Santa Maria, both in California...well I live in Cali, so Cali schools are what I am looking at. My next question would be with what you guys know about me so far, are there any college suggestions you may have? And give me some input on what is needed to qualify and get in? All your advice is awesome, thanks guys, you rock!!!

Keep trying, or give up :(
Well things are always changing and so many variables are different with every school. Currently this summer I'll be applying to two local schools (the only ones that are local here). One only accepts three qualified LVNs into there program. They look at a more holistic view, such as how long have you been a nurse already, work history prior, references and such. I feel very well qualified. I've been a nurse for almost three years now, since the age of 16 I have done nothing but health care work such as physical fitness aid, physical therapy aid, mental health job coach and primary, Cna, CNA coordinator, ward clerk, and a charge nurse. I'm already iv certified and working on getting a wound certification eventually. The other school is picking there LVN s first, and then filling apps with applicants like me. They are subtracting repeats from there equation. But, they are taking your total gpa not science gpa, and you have to take a "pn predictor test" I will study for this but I feel I have a good shot at doing well on that, since I've already taken the nclex. I forgot to mention for the last college ( the one that only picks 3) that I have to take the teas test. My brain is just so stressed right now.

I have slightly, it seems extremely expensive and I haven't heard or met anyone who has completed it successfully?

Keep trying, or give up :(
OK guys, i'm gonna be completely honest with you! I am not one to give up, but I have been trying to get my RN for over 7 years!!! I achieved in the process of becoming a LVN during my attempt and have been an LVN for almost three years now. I admit it, I screwed up when I was like 18 and 19 years old. Dicking around, and not taking my classes as serious as I should, or just having a huge overload and not focusing on classes like I should. Well, low and behold here I am 25 years old and repeating classes (which of course screws me for a lot of programs, since I've had to repeat my Physiology class 3 times the first was a W so that counts). I'm doing extremely well in school now, since i'm taking more time into it and I want my RN SOOOOO BAD!!! Yet, trying to apply to schools at this point with my science GPA's only at like a 2.2 or .3 and my repeats is just getting hard to find. I'm almost losing hope but I have tried SOOO HARD, I need some words of advice people. Help me out here!! I'm going NUTS!!

Is LVN a good career choice?
I love being an LVN!! I do want to continue my career as an RN but am having diffuculties getting into programs. I hope it will happen for me this summer when I apply to a local college! I do believe becoming an LVN and CNA before that was the best thing I could do for my health care career. I believe I will truly be a better nurse in my life because I've gotten to experience these levels in my life!

INA
It stand for international nurses association and it's a membership for selected healthcare individuals. It seemed pretty legit, but I'm always cautious where I'm putting my money these days.

INA
Hi everyone! I'm new to all nurses and am excited to be here. I'm an LVN and am currently working towards getting my RN. I have an application process that i'll be doing in July to get into a Local college that is now only accepting a maximum of 3 LVN s into their RN program yearly. They are looking at more of a holistic view, not just grades. In fact they are looking at work history, How long you have been a nurse, and i'm assuming anything else that my give you kudos into the program. So now to my post, I was contacted by the INA sometime back and just talked to them today. I did a whole interview process to be part of their organization which sounds great, and appears could possibly benefit me in my application process to this college. However they didn't tell me the cost of anything until they end . Turns out it's pretty expensive! I signed up for the cheapest membership which can be cancelled at anytime. I figure I should at least have it in the benefits of applying, and then after if I felt I should I can cancel. I just want to know what any of you think of the INA? Are any of you members? What are pro's and Cons? Any info and feed back would be great, Thanks guys!!!
