  1. Not all icu's use swans, which is where u would get ur wedge pressure from. I work in neuro/trauma icu and we never use swans. We only do Aline's and cvp for other cardiac monitoring. Occasionally we do transvenous pacing. So if u don't know something just say so...someone will hopefully take that as a teaching opportunity. Does ur Ccu or cv icu use swans? If so...one day just go over there and ask to be taught and get hands on experience with them
  2. Advice...I started fresh out of nursing school in a trauma/neuro icu. Do NOT do it! Give urself time to learn! Even if it is just a few months in a PCU or the floor. Try an ortho floor if u really want some stable trauma experience.
  3. I'm a nurse in trauma/neuro icu in florida and I'm not sure how the economy is in PA...but we are always hiring trauma nurses with any kind of experience. The fact that u used to work trauma and that u currently still hold a TNCC certificate show be gold. But then again different ppl look for different things. Good luck!
