UCF 2013 Accelerated BSN
On my document, it looks like it took them three tries to verify my employment. Under "contact history", it shows that there was "no answer" the first two attempts, but next to the third attempt, it states, "entered results". Beneath the "contact history" is a section called "additional questions" where it shows that they asked if I was eligible for rehire, and my employer's response was that I am "current". Inititally, I was concerned that they were unable to make contact, but the day I was going to follow up with a call, I saw that it had been updated. If you're worried about it, you might want to call CP just to make sure it's as it should be. I hope this helps!

Personally, I didn't spend a lot of time studying for it, but my background is in education and I recently took all of my science prerequisite courses. I bought McGraw-Hill's book of 5 TEAS practice tests at Barnes & Noble for about $12, and I worked through all of the problems so I would be familiar with the format. I timed myself at first, but after a while, I just took my time going through it, reading the explanations for any that I missed. All said and done, I spent no more than 3 days studying for it. The book was very helpful to me, though, and I would recommend it. Good luck to you! :)

Thank you, Zeus&Lincoln, for sharing your perspective; it is very reassuring. And Gradius, I love your spirit of teamwork and your drive to persevere. Just like Nursowiczka2b said, we need to stay positive! This profession comes with many challenges, and this program will be foundational in preparing us for what's ahead. I'm sure there will be many obstacles along the way, but in the end, they will probably make us stronger and more proficient at what we do.

UCF Accelerated BSN 2011-2012
Personally, I took the TEAS test two times because I felt that if I didn't make it into the program, I didn't want to regret not having done more. My overall GPA is a 3.67 because most of my grades were from UF at a time when the grading was based on the 94-100 scale and "plusses" were given. So basically, if I got a 93 in a class, then I got a B+ which now translates into a B with 3 points credit, as opposed to it being an A with 4 points credit. I did get a 4.0 in all of my prerequisite courses, and a 92.7 on my first TEAS test, but I felt the only thing I could possibly improve would be my TEAS score. There was nothing more I could do for my GPA. I got a 93.3 the second time around, which isn't too much of a change from the first score, but when I submitted my application, I felt complete peace of mind that I had done everything I could possibly do to make myself competitive. Regarding other nursing programs, if time is not a factor for you, I would look at some of UCF's concurrent programs at local community colleges. They cost less money, are conveniently located, are fully accredited, have exceptional NCLEX pass rates, and you still receive the same degree that you would at the main campus. It just may take one or two semesters longer. You can even start to work as an RN after you get your ASN and pass your NCLEX while you finish your last semester or two! For me, the ABSN program is the only real option I have because I plan to take a year off from work to complete it, and taking more time off than that would be too much of a loss of income for my family. Good luck to you!!! :)

@ [COLOR=#003366]Nursowiczka2b I'm on your 2013 UCF ABSN thread, and the above post concerned me, too. However, when I started looking into it, I noticed that the person who made that post had no other posts on allnurses.com, which I find a little skeptical, and I found this link from a previous cohort... , which made me feel much better. I just sent in my application today, and I'm not going to let this get me down. I hope you won't either! :)

UCF 2013 Accelerated BSN
Hi! I'm applying for UCF's ABSN program, as well. I just wanted to thank you for starting this thread and sharing so much information. Since everyone is sharing stats, here are mine... My overall GPA is a 3.67, my prereq GPA is a 4.0, and I got a 92.7 on the TEAS. I'm planning to take the TEAS one more time later this week, though. I hadn't taken A&P I and II yet when I first took it, and as competitive as this program sounds, I don't want to have any regrets! After that, I will submit my application. I already completed the background check, but like everyone else, I am waiting for the "eligible for placement" section to be updated. I, too, want to wish everyone luck. I hope I have the opportunity to work with you all because it sounds like you're as passionate as I am about working in the medical field. Hopefully we'll be able to meet in person before long! :)
