  1. I have usually called the Financial Aid Office earlier in the day (before 11) and have gotten in touch with someone. Maybe try them during the morning hours (if you can)! The SON folks have always been super helpful too, so don't be afraid to call or email them. :)
  2. Yay!! So happy and excited for you! For the background check we had to sign a form and give payment ($40, I believe). I would hope they would include all this in the paperwork they'll be sending you. I know several people had listed things about roommates on the FB page, so you may want to try that if you are on there. :) Just search for "UNC ABSN '15" and you will see the group to join.
  3. Hope you hear good news soon Seahawkgirl2011!!
  4. I just called the SON about the PID number. It is the number listed after "lwid" in the top left corner of your Connect Carolina page (mine has nine digits).
  5. I got my acceptance in the mail! I'm still in shock that this is happening! I look forward to meeting everyone soon. :) Good luck to those still waiting!!
  6. Yay! Congratulations! I won't get home until after 5 - now I'm super nervous. Do you both live in Chapel Hill?
  7. Booo, I don't like reading all this bad news! If nursing is what you really want to do (which it obviously is), don't be discouraged and keep trying! I remember reading that they get 200-300 applications each cycle and only choose 64, so keep your head up! It seems strange that they're not releasing all the bad notifications at once. That makes me really nervous! I may be reading my own words of encouragement soon...
  8. Hopefully, those of you in Chapel Hill will get some mail with good news today. Let us know if you do!
  9. Has anyone on here been waitlisted?
  10. Don't worry yet!! No news is good news (that's what I'm telling myself)! Plus, it looks like they're changing the MyUNC portal soon, so it could just be a glitch with that.
  11. Mine still says "No To Do's." No decision available yet either...
  12. Oh no, Bohbee! Thanks for posting and letting us know.
  13. And I know this may be silly, but did your browser block a pop-up window?
  14. @Bohbee, mine still says "Thank you for submitting your application. Your decision is not yet available." Maybe they're in the process of updating them? Good luck!!
  15. I'm sorry sir, did you say you needed 10 more pages to complete your medical history?
  16. Alright everyone! Here's to hoping we hear something this week! Please post if you see a decision up on MyUNC. I know I will be checking every chance I get. Good luck!!
  17. Hang in there! My advice is not to worry about those things until we know something. :) I live about 30 minutes from Chapel Hill, so if I get in I will be commuting. I've heard the traffic is horrible, so I will probably try to take a bus to avoid driving in it!
  18. Mine also says "should". It does say it will be valid for spring 2014, which to me says we got in-state status. Maybe they just say it that way since we haven't been accepted (yet!).
  19. I filled out the residency form right after the application was due. I got my residency decision in the mail ~2-3 weeks after I submitted it. I want to say that it did not come from the SON, but from the Residency dept...though I'm not 100% sure. I can look when I get home if that would be helpful. I've been wondering if your Seahawk username came from UNC-W. :) I have many friends that went there and still live in Wilmington!
  20. Hi Seahawkgirl2011 - it's my first applying to UNC as well! Let's just hope and pray we're one of the lucky ones! :)
  21. Time keeps creeping by, but we're getting closer! I think I remember someone saying (maybe at an info session) that decisions would start going out around mid-October...but that may be my brain having wishful thinking! I did look back at the thread from last year and they started getting decisions around the second week of October. Here's to hoping this year is the same! If so, that's only about 3 more weeks!!
  22. I saw that yesterday on mine too, so I'm trying to finish it up this weekend. Lots of digging through files to find all the info!! Thanks for replying back. :)
  23. I have not filled out the residency form. Where did you find it? I didn't see anything about it in the application instructions, so maybe we don't have to fill it out yet...but you could send an email to the SON and ask just to be sure! If you do, let us know what they say. :)
  24. You'll already know all the cool hang-out and study spots when you get in this time around. And yes, the wait is going to feel like forever! I'm an "old lady" compared to you - I graduated with my Bachelor's in 2006! :) Congrats on finishing up this May and enjoy your time off before starting back!
  25. @TarheelGirlx3 - Good luck to you as well! Sorry I missed your other post, I'm still learning my way around this website! I am in-state and live pretty close to Chapel Hill. Are you also in-state? @Rthom09 - I am also waiting on my final grade for my last pre-req...hopefully, I'll have everything in by late next week! It's always scary to finally turn it all in! To answer your question about Duke, I did apply and got accepted for the fall. However, after the hospital discontinued the tuition reimbursement program, financially it was not an option for me to go there. It's a great program and I know people who are starting there this fall that are super excited! For me, I could not spend that much money on another degree; however, I encourage you to leave all of your options open and choose the school that works best for you! I don't think you can go wrong with Duke or UNC - they both have excellent programs! Good luck to you as well!
