what do i do? i have been interviewed on the spot when I came in to apply. I was told I came in a little late since new hires were in already but was asked to call and follow up on a certain date. SO i did, and was asked again to call next week since my application has to be approved yet with the admin. That day came and I did called again for like thrice ( on the specific time the DON told me that she was free) but have no luck. they said she was out on a meeting, out for lunch, and was busy so i should call later. Im so upset. If they dont need me then why do they have to do this to me? This job search makes me feel sick. I dont know if i can handle another rejection. And this whole calling thing, I dont even know if i should still push through with it.. can you PLEASE help me guys?

Thank you QuanaBSN. I havent signed any contract (as far as I know). All I did signed is an application forms and consent to do a criminal background check. Well I do hope we all get our dream jobs in the future. Good luck to you too! :)

HI all. I just moved here in the United States and I just have started my job search. So far I had applied to so many with only few feedbacks. And I need opinions with regards to making decisions since I'm just new here and I have no idea what to expect.. Facility A took my resume and said she would talk to her administrator and will call tom for the interview. They offer a full time job with 23/hr. While in Facility B, I had a chance to be interviewed on the spot with the DON and asked me if I'm interested in a part time position. And I answered "yes" since I'm jobless and I think I'm not in the position to be choosy with this type of job market.. SO she told me I have to undergo a criminal background screening and when its done they will call me to talk about the rate and when should I have my orientation... Its basically like a 3 to 4 day wait. They actually started to file for the background check right away. So my question is, what if I got interviewed and hired with FACILITY A, is it okay for me to just tell FACILITY B that I wont be able to get the job anymore? And how will say that? What I'm scared about is, I told FACILITY B I'm still interested with the position regardless of it being just part time (like 2 days a week), so I'm not sure how to tell them that I will be choosing a Full time offer job with other facility over them? I know nothing is definite yet with FACILITY A but I just wanted to know what to do, just in case. I need help guys. Please. Thanks.

H everyone. I've been applying in different SNF's here in LA county. I'm nervous as hell! I haven't gone in any interview yet so I have no idea what to expect.. Except from those I have read on this site, which is actually pretty helpful yet scary.. Makes me feel more nervous! Hehe. I've read posts where new RN's were being bullied and unrespected by their colleagues. I absolutely don't want it to happen to me. I'm getting more scared because I'm a foreign trained nurse, and I just got here in the US a few months ago.. I am a RN but I've been unemployed for 3 yrs now so I don't feel confident anymore. There are so many things I have forgotten and I'm trying to review and study by my self but I still I can't find my confidence to go back.. I wish I could get a job where senior staff/ nurses will be nice respectful and understanding.. Especially to nurses like me who were anxious to be back in track but still dying to get a nursing job and practice her dream profession. Reading posts about bullying makes me doubt about applying for jobs or anything.. I'm an immigrant and I'm still trying to adjust with the culture here so everything is so overwhelming for me. Help!

These hospitals and institutions who doesn't seem to appreciate new RN's will might have shortage of quality nurses in the future once the working nurses today came to their retirement. They've been ignoring the new RN's without thinking that these NEW RN'S should be the replacement for the retiring qualified nurses in the future.. its such a disappointment. I hope the government can do something about it so new nurses wont be in such a pitiful situation! Well anyways Thank you so much for your kind reply. Its good to know I'm not alone. though I'm kind of wishing that all of us (who are unemployed new nurses) are not in this situation right now. Good luck to us and God bless us all!

its so upsetting to know that, after all the hardwork in nursing school and the licensure exams, almost no one would want to hire new nurses. how are we going to have working experience in the first place? sigh.. Thanks..

hi there. im a foreign graduate nurse who is licensed RN here in CA. I just got here in in LA and im wondering what other certifications will I need to apply for a job? Like ABLS etc... I dont have any US hospital experience yet so I know it'll be hard for me to find a job. Is there any one out there in the same situation as mine? Its hard to adjust being a newcomer in this country and so with finding a job. I really dont know where to start. Any advice will be very much appreciated. Thanks

just an update. i did checked nursys.com to see if my name was regitered already in CA BRN and thank God my name is finally there! its been a month since my school and i submitted the required documents including the NCLEX pass letter (which was expired already) and a photocopy of my SS card. Now im just waiting for them to mail me my RN license. Thank God everythings ok now. Hope those who are in the same issue as I was before would be able to see this post so they'd know their NCLEX exam is still valid! cheers o us and thanks to ms. azir too! God bless us all!

i need help pls

Here's my story. I studied in the Philippines and now Im here in CA. I passed the NCLEX on 2009, and it expired. I now have my SSN since im here now in CA. The Board asked me to submit again a new set of appication for licensure by exmanination since my files were now destroyed and they will issue my license... I sent the request for transcript form to my mom in the phil so she can submit it personally to my school, (OLFU valenzuela). I called my school prior that and thats what they told me to do. SO we did it. They accepted the papers from my mom and told her to come back for it after a week coz they want my mom to mail those papers, they will just seal it and my mom will have to mail them in a courier along the vicinity of the school. Well here's the problem, when my mom came back, the school registrar asked my mom why did I not signed the REQUEST OF TRANSCRIPT FORMS. she said my mom can mail it already but the Board of nursing may question the absence of my signature. So I was like, "WTH?!!" I tripled checked everything before I mailed them and the "APPLICANT'S SIGNATURE PART" is quite big so Im pretty sure I haven't missed it. What I suspect is, they made a mistake or typo error on answering the lower part of the form so they have no choice but to download a new one and make it look like I was the one who had a mistake for not signing so they weren't the one to blame. I am so ****** off. They told me to send another form and make sure it is was signed and they will dry seal the form again, or I can send a scanned copy of form with my signature on it and they will dry seal it.. Its freaking me out!!!!!! Thinking that my mom will have to go back to that school for few times more, (its really far from our house).. And besides I really need those documents to be mailed to the BRN now since Im in need of finding a job. Tjhis is such a waste of time. Im so stressed out . Has anyone ever experienced this? Do you think If my mom will mail out those forms from school without my signature it would be a problem? PLS HELP!!! Thanks! Admin note: edited per ToS
