  1. I graduated from Excelsior Jan 2016. I did my 200 hours at Mary Bridge Hospital in the Emergency Department. I obtained my RN last month. I have a job offer for Valley Emergency Department Residency program and I have an interview for Good Samaritan Emergency Department next week. I would suggest you contact different places with working RN until you find someone to precept you. Ask to speak to the department educational director. My company helped me set up my preceptorship, I know a few people who were able to go work with a nurse and get signed off. Call the Washington DOH and verify the preceptorship before you start. They are slightly prejudiced against students from Excelsior. It can be done! I'm currently at WSU Online for my BSN.
  2. I contacted the University of Washington to find out if they accepted Excelsior credits by examination. I was informed that they accept courses but some of the credits do not transfer (and count towards my BSN) if they are listed as exams.
  3. What does your transcript look like from Excelsior? Does your credits show up as COURSES or EXAM CREDITS? I called my local unniversity and they said that they have seen transcrips say both, but transferring COURSES is obviously easier and more widely accepted.
  4. Hello! Is there anyone currently attending Excelisor who lives in Washington state? I called the WA BON this week and they told me there were going to start "phasing" out Excelsior and other non-traditional nursing schools because of the fact that they are "non-traditional." I have my preceptor set up, and I currently work full time at an Urgent Care as a LPN. I emailed the HR of my company and asked if they hired Excelsior graduates and they informed me that they currently have nurses who went through Excelsior.. My questions: Any graduates who went through Excelsior and had success finding a job? Has anyone RECENTLY applied for their license in a different state and endorced their license WITHOUT the 1000 hr requirement? Do you know if you can "shadow" an MD or NRAP or does it have to be an RN?
