  1. Hi All, I am currently working at a hospital in Pittsburgh and a member of the Quality Committee. Our hospital is at an all time high with patient falls. If anyone out there has a suggestion or a policy or protocol in place at their facility that works or has helped to decreased falls, I am all ears. I work on a Family Practice unit. We tend to get quite a few nursing home residents that have dementia. For the past few months we have had quite an increase in falls on our unit alone, most were due to patients with dementia or altered mental status. With these patients the bed alarms work well as well as retraints being the last resort. any suggestions would be great.:loveya:
  2. My questions were very difficult. I don't think I have ever taken a test that could compare in nursing school. The worst part is I felt so incompetent when I left there. I am trying to stay positive and keep busy while waiting for the results. These are the longest days of my life. I keep reading everyones posts though, it's so helpful knowing that I am not alone.
  3. I took the NCLEX today and had 75 queations with at least 5 (if not more)" "select all that apply" questions. I am not feeling very good about the whole thing. My questions seemed to be very difficult. I am so afraid I failed.
  4. Oh and by the way, I have 3 teenagers and a 6 year old! I never thought I could do it but I did and you will too! :)
  5. Hi DorselM! I am also a student at Shadyside in the evening/weekend program. I am starting my transition next semester and graduating in June 2007! I am scared to death. We had our Sims experience at Wiser during our PEDS/OB rotation. It was a great experience but also very humbling:rolleyes: . You have all these big ideas till your patient starts to crash and then it's like "help!":rotfl: Shadyside is a great school with alot of wonderful instructors. I was very fortunate to have been given a chance to a part of such a supportive class and have made a lot of great friends. Good Luck to all!
  6. Hi! I am graduating from UPMC Shadyside in June. This program is one of the best! Shadyside has at least a 98% pass rate on NCLEX consistently. It is a hard program but worth all the work. Good Luck!
