  1. Results havent been released yet!! Hopefully this month! The only i can say about the exam is that its being time pressured makes it hard but the scenarios werent that bad. It was actually fun. Oh but i hope i did well. It will actually help a lot if you attend the orientation conducted by health force ontario about osce. They will give you the guidelines on what to study. But basically the osce evaluates if you have the skills and knowledge like that of a newly graduated nurse in ontario must have.
  2. We did? Slmc-gc? Yup ive already done OSCE. Are you in toronto?
  3. Haha thats right!! I have friend too who has only a work permit but was able to register with only a work permit!
  4. Hi!!! What did your results say?? May i ask your background in nursing? Im taking the exam tom!!

  9. I would like to gather feedback about the organization CARE 4 nurses in Toronto. There is a membership fee for $125 and they offer prep courses for a much lower price than in other institutions. Is it really beneficial to apply for membership? Are their prep courses significantly useful? I would very much appreciate your feedback IENs. :)
  10. Wow.. slmc conducts training for a fee now???? I was an ER staff nurse and yeah maybe the fee is worth it for the kind of training you gain from them. It is world-class . nOtziE (^__^)
  11. Im in toronto im just reviewing the dtandards of practice, ethics and the Canadian nsg funda. What are you doing for the review? nOtziE (^__^)

It is very informative and its free. :) You will gain a broader knowledge about the test flow and setting. You may be able to narrow down the areas of focus you need to touch up on. Just visit their website. nOtziE (^__^)

  16. I got my BSN in the Philippines 2007 had almost 3 years experience working in the ER at St. Luke's Medical Center. Submitted applications for RN and RPN last year... and now just waiting... When I got the letter from the CNO about the option to take the OSCE.. I got really excited and Im looking forward to taking it but now im anxious because I realized I have been out of practice for almost 2 years now!!! That's why right now Im gathering as much info about the OSCE as I can.. :)
  17. Hello!! I will be attending the seminar conducted by Healthforce Ontario tomorrow.. anyone out there who will be heading there as well?? :)

  19. Fionachu there are upcoming information sessions conducted by Healthforce Ontario about the OSCE. I will be attending the session tom downtown. Its easy to register. Go over the previous posts here and you will see the link regarding that. :) try register today!!
  20. I hope i wasnt misunderstood that I don't agree going through the evaluation, it is actually my pleasure and a privilege to be assessed.. But like most applicants.. Waiting in the dark.. I just hope they are able to improve the process on how they facilitate these applications. Canada is a great country to some it may be the best but the best can always become better :)
  21. It is indeed true that CNO is not solely to blame regarding the processing. However, knowing that Ontario is one of the largest provinces and pretty much it gets more applications than other states, and expecting that there could be large volumes of documents to go through and verify, they may probably want to consider more efficient ways to better the current situation applicants are having. Not adding more tests and processing times. And maybe add more people to their staff.
  22. Where do you want to apply as a nurse? Caleo is right. It is a long frustrating process but it actually depends on which province you want to apply to. If you are interested in Ontario, visit http://www.cno.org
  23. Hi! I had a co-worker in the ER who was also a big guy. He was tall and really huge. Our ER gets really crazy and chaotic and always super busy. Anyway, this guy im telling you about was my mentor, and he was great nurse! One of the best IV sharp shooter in the hospital, he was even better than most anesthesiologists! He's the go-to guy for every difficult patient. Dont be insecure about how you look, but pls be concerned on how your weight affects your health. My mentor was a really great nurse, unfortunately he passed away, heart attack at age 40 something. Good job on the lifestyle change, continue working out! Go! Go! Go! :)
  24. How did you prepare for the rpn exam?
