  1. Congrats hopeful! I was really hoping to get the Fuld Fellowship too. I'll have to see if I have any good snail mail today.
  2. Hi monacita, I received the same type of acceptance as you (also for midwifery). Unfortunately I don't have any pertinent information regarding what the real chances are but I am going to go to another school so hopefully that will help open up the chances that you can transfer into the midwifery dept!
  3. Sounds great FinnCat! Seattle is such an amazing city. I'm visiting Baltimore next month and look forward to scoping out some of the neighborhoods that I've been researching. All I know is that I want to live in a row house because we don't have those here! EnnAbra, when did you receive the emailing saying you had not been selected? I haven't gotten anything like that yet.
  4. I was an early decision BSN/MSN applicant and I received my BSN decision by phone and my MSN decision by email. So I think it could very well be a combo of all the options depending on your specialty perhaps. I can't wait for you all to hear back and see who will be going to Hopkins!
  5. Nope I haven't heard anything either so looks like I'm headed east for school. If anyone has any questions about the Seattle area, please feel free to contact me. I've lived in the city for almost a decade and currently live about a mile away from SU so I'd be happy to help answer any questions for those who may be coming from far away. :)
  6. Yay icelind!!!
  7. Has anyone heard back about the midwifery track?
  8. OMG Here we go! Congrats SDBruin
  9. I'm sorry too Calinca!
  10. My sentiments exactly icelind!
  11. I called on Monday and the person was ultra vague and didn't seem well informed. She passed me on to someone who is supposed to be in the "know" and I always just get their voice mail. Calinca, I would be thinking the same thing about a large number of applicants but this thread has been so quiet compared to last year that it makes me think otherwise. Although maybe people have not been posting because there hasn't been any news....yet!
  12. Please report out what you hear back from your email, Hawaii. I wanted to send another email but didn't want to seem too crazy. I can practically see SU from my office and I want to go bang on the door and be like "what's the hold up?!?!?"
  13. Thank you vivealegre! I'm a Seattleite and plan to practice in the Seattle area one day so I really see a lot of personal and professional value in going to school and building a network where you intend to practice. And as we discussed earlier, SU has a price tag that is easier to swallow too. Although it's kind of curious because so far I've been rejected to all my west coast schools and accepted or wait listed to all my east coast schools! Hoping SU can break my bad luck streak for the west coast!
  14. Yep. I interviewed there in December and got wait listed today. Considering how incredible their program is, I was honored to even be wait listed to be honest. I'm hoping to hear good news from Seattle U otherwise I'm off to Baltimore to go to Hopkins.
  15. Today Penn released decisions for their direct entry program and there were over 90 people live on the thread. Everyone's hope, dreams, encouragement, and anticipation was palpable. Seattle U is my last school to release any sort of decision or interview invitation and I am soooo looking forward to being done with the application process once and for all.
  16. Lol Calinca. I think so too! Which is great! At one of the schools I interviewed at, there was a male CNM conducting interviews.
  17. Waitlisted for me too.
  18. Here we go. Good luck.
  19. Your application username and p/w are different from your Penn Portal.
  20. Definitely jealous of those who are not working today! I'm a waste of space in my office because I'm so on edge waiting for decision time!
  21. I emailed them earlier today to see if they could tell me when interview invitations were scheduled to go out. The response I got was "Not yet. We are working on them" So I'm going to ease up a bit on my email inbox stalking until tomorrow. As far as tuition goes...here is what is posted under the FAQs about how much the program costs. "Tuition for the 2011-2012 academic year is $626 per credit, so the tuition cost is approximately $70, 112 - $71,990 for 112-115 credits. There are also nursing fees and technology fees. Books may cost nearly $2000 over the course of study. A personal digital assistant and software, as well as a notebook computer are recommended. The approximate total tuition and fees costs for the course of the program: $77,670 - $79,558." Compared to the other direct entry masters program, Seattle U is so much more reasonably priced.
  22. This wait is agonizing....
  23. I hope you are right Calinca!
  24. afent, what program are you applying for? I had three interviews, but none with an admissions counselor, although I know many applicants had their first interview with an admissions counselor.
  25. Yes I have been accepted to one other program as well. I always thought that in-person interviews were better but now I've done Skype, phone, and in person interviews for school and it's really just about the connection between you and your interviewer. My phone interviews were fantastic. Maybe I was more comfortable because I wasn't worried about extraneous details and felt more relaxed or maybe it was just the conversation. Either way, if you can't make it in-person, i don't believe it will detract from your chances of getting accepted.
