  1. No problem! Thank you! And good luck to you as well!
  2. I have a 3.4 and my HESI at MTSU was an 87 I think. I applied twice to MTSU and I didn't get in either time. You also have to do an interview at MTSU and that score factors in with your HESI and GPA score. It is an extremely hard program to get in as well. Every program around here is. I feel like I just got really lucky getting into motlows program cause everyone tries to go there since it is cheaper. My GPA is 3.4 there and I made a 90 on my HESI for motlow.
  3. I'm pretty sure the RN to BSN program at MTSU is a year and a half. I'm sure Cumberland is a great school if you are getting a scholarship but I was only getting a Pell grant and that's not even enough to pay for half of the tuition. I can't justify being in debt and going to school every day and even on weekends. There were women there with me the day we were supposed to register freaking out because we had no idea that they wanted us to have class and clinical every single day of the week. We could have clinical any day even on weekends and at night. Idk how anyone with a family would be able to go there.
  4. I was accepted into Cumberland's nursing program for this summer. It is a very nice school and I hear they have a good program but it is super expensive (around $9,100 a SEMESTER). They pretty much expect you to take classes all week and do your clinicals on the weekend. I was going to have to go to school at least 6 days a week if I had gone there. Plus there are a lot of extra classes that Cumberland requires compared to other BSN programs. I have all my pre reqs finished for MTSU but I was going to have to take a different psychology and Spanish 1 & 2 for Cumberland's program. I ended up getting into motlows nursing program for this fall. It is much closer to where I live and much more easy for me to afford right now. I will go back online to get my BSN thru MTSU after I graduate from motlow.
  5. Well the Motlow State Community College Nursing Class of 2015 FB page is up for whoever would like to join. Just search for us or message me your name to add you!
  6. I wouldnt mind making a FB page if no one minded. Message me if anyone is interested.
  7. It is about an hour from McMinnville but at least it's just two days a week and not every day! Yes I'm about a month we will be like why were we ever this excited about this torture! Haha
  8. I thought I heard we would go four days a week to start out but I wasn't sure about it. Thanks for clarifying!
  9. Yeah I know the times but I wasn't sure if lab was one day a week or two. I bought a pair of scrubs from the SNA at the first orientation but I'm definitely going to get another pair cause I know all too well about getting stuff on your scrubs and having to change! Maybe they will have some more scrubs next Tuesday. I also still need to get a lab coat but at least I have a few weeks before I have to have it.
  10. Well just 20 more days to go. Has anyone had any communication with the nursing department? It's kind of like hey just show up and you will find out what happens. Lol. Maybe I'm just getting to anxious to get started.
  11. I feel you on the struggling to pay for everything part! I still have about 3 books left to get. And trying to get the money up to pay my tuition! ? I still need one set of scrubs and a lab coat and a blood pressure cuff. After that I should be good.
  12. Well I never really wanted to be a nurse until I went to school to be a CST. I always liked watching surgery on tv and there was a school in the town I live that had a surgical tech program. I figured out that I was really interested in everything medical and I knew I wanted to take my career as far as I could. After I get my ASN i will go back and get my BSN and i eventually want to be a nurse practitioner but Im not sure what specialty yet. Every place that i have gone to for clinicals and the place that I work all the anesthetist seem to bond with me and tell me that im gonna go to anesthesia school but Im not sure if thats what I really want to do. I really love surgery so I will probably stick with being an OR nurse when I graduate. With nursing there are just so many opportunities like being able to switch jobs or departments if you get tired of one. As a CST you are just limited to one department and that's it. Plus with nursing there is more job opportunities and of course a much higher salary. I can still scrub in as a nurse if I am working in the OR.
  13. Gotcha. Thanks for all the info by the way! Very helpful! I'm a CST and I had a hard time finding somewhere to work without experience when I graduated also. Plus everyone knew I was going back to school to be an RN so my clinical site where I could get a job didn't want to hire me since I would be in school . I have been working PRN at a hospital as a scrub tech for over 2 years so I'm hoping after graduating nursing school that experience with be beneficial to helping get a nursing job. Who knows though!
  14. Everything is finally showing up completed! Yay!
  15. First day is August 26
  16. I have been working two jobs also but for two years. Lol. I will be quitting my surgical tech job right before we go back to school though. Just been trying to pay off bills and buy books and get tuition! Ugh! I have about 4 more books to get. I also heard we should get a meddeck which really helps with when we start going over meds. They are pretty cheap on amazon though.
  17. I have to agree. If I didn't work at my uncles business where we have a fax and scanner it would have been a really big pain. I spoke to Miss B in the nursing office today. She said they had several problems through the my record tracker and if my liability insurance was not checked as completed by August 1st it would be ok. She said they are being lenient this year since its the first time using my record tracker and having so many problems out of it. And if I'm paying someone for their service they could at least get it done in a timely manner. 4 days to click a box completed on two pieces of paper is a little slow to me if I'm paying you to do it.
  18. Well I called to see when it might be completed and how convenient is it that the guy I need to talk to isn't there and I have to leave a voicemail? I would have rather just put everything in a big envelope and snail mailed it or hand delivered it the the school.
  19. Well the last thing I have to have completed is my liability insurance. I faxed it Friday and Friday afternoon it had still not shown as pending so I scanned it and uploaded it. It is still showing as pending and I am hoping that it get completed by Wednesday. NSO set me back a whole week by not sending me my certificate until a week later.
  20. Has anyone heard about some of the motlow nursing instructors leaving and the program director and what they are doing about it? About to start my first year there and was just trying to figure out what's going on??
  21. Well I had to call NSO today and even though they say you will get confirmation the next business day it will be a week tomorrow that I applied and still have no confirmation. After sitting on the phone for 30 minutes this morning they told me there was a problem with the system the day I applied and I basically have to call back tomorrow and do the exact same thing to see if my payment has went through and if not I will have to send in another application. My advise, get your liability insurance from the other place that she recommended. Not worth the BS to go through NSO.
  22. It depends. Sometimes they say completed the same day but sometimes it takes them a couple of days to show up as completed. Thanks for the info on the insurance! I registered my account on NSO but there is still no policy or certificate up. If I don't get it tomorrow I am going to call and see what is going on. That is the only document I have left to submit!
