Hey all...i went down to the registration office today and they said it wasnt on their end so i had to go over to the nursing dept and after proving that it wasnt allowing me to register they did something that fixed the problem

Hi everyone...did i miss understand about enrolling in a pharmacology class...i thought we were supposed to do that basically as soon as we could but when i try it says i am not accepted into the program yet...is that something happening just with me or am i just rying to enroll too soon?

I am facing the same issue about having the chicken pox...because i was the first out of the three children to get the chickenpox my mother thinks she MAY have taken me to the doctor but she knows for a fact that she didnt take my brothers when they came down with it after me...so i have been on the phone with Kaiser and have been faxing them everything to get my records released to me and hopefully there will be an official diagnosis I hope the school offers the immunizations way cheaper...i knew the program was going to be costly to start but now adding everything up that i will need to pay for before my pell grant is made available to me is making my head spin

It doesnt include the admin fee which is $16 for one shot or $25 for two or more shots...I didnt ask about hep a because i dont think the nursing students need hep a but i could be wrong about that

Just an FYI about the immunizations for those of you in the same boat as me with no insurance...i called the clark county health department and the pricing for each is as follows Hep B $45 per shot 3 needed, MMR $75 per shot 2 needed, Chickenpox $105 per shot 2 needed, TDAP $60...so if you are in need of all the shots through the health district it will be $555...I am trying to get the records from my childhood doctors because the MMR I got will still be good and if you have official documentation stating you had the chicken pox you do not need the chickenpox vaccine...TDAP I had as a child but it is only good for 10 years so if you have your records showing you've had that in the past ten years you will be ok on that one as well...If anyone knows of a cheaper alternative please let me know

The school gives out the information for a company that charges about $150 per semester (at least that is what is was 2 semesters ago when I needed it for my CNA courses.) It is enough to count for the program but it really is horrible insurance that will only kick in if you are in some sort of accident with extremely high medical bills.

I am using the pell grant and a loan to pay for my tuition and i know you have to be considered full time for the loan but if the school considers the program full time i shouldnt have any issues...i hope

I have to volunteer at the elementary school for their Halloween party...i already had obligated myself before i found out about needing to get my packet...so i am going to have to wait til after i have been an appropriate chaperon for a bunch of hyped up 5th graders to head over to the campus to get my packet

Ok i guess i missed it...what exactly is the Nurs 285 class...the description in my csn isnt very in depth...i actually need to find some other classes because i need to have 12 units so i can be considered full tome so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I got in!!!!! i was sweating it seeing that everyone else was getting their calls and i hadnt...i am going to relax and enjoy it for a minute before the madness really starts...congrats to everyone ps i had 29 pts

So a friend of mine who is applying next semester sent me a simple text asking if i had heard anything and i went into full panic mode texting back saying no and why did anyone else she knows get the call...instant panic mode from an innocent text...so of course i had to log back in here to see if maybe calls did go out after i started watching the world series(which my team totally won wooo hooo)...i REALLY hope the madness ends with a phone call tomorrow

I am giving up for the day in order to #1 not continue to drive myself crazy worrying about a call that will probably not come until tomorrow and #2 Watch the San Francisco Giants play in the first game of the world series...Thank you all for being on here posting...it is nice to know i am not the only one in the anxiety boat waiting to hear if i got into the program...a lot of people just dont "get it" and tell me not to stress so it is nice to talk with people who understand what it has already taken just to be able to apply to get into the program and who understand how much getting that phone call will mean

SERIOUSLY ARGHHHHHHHHH i cant wait til tomorrow...which seems silly since i have already waited almost two months since i turned my packet in but i cant take it anymore...i was calm about it until the 19th since then i have been twisted up every day waiting to hear something...and last night as i went to sleep i was calm because i figured today would be the day for sure

No guarantee it will be today but it seems like there is a good chance it will be today

Every time either my cell phone or house phone rings I jump out of my skin...it is going to be a long day

Hi again...I have gone a whole week with out obsessing over not getting the call yet...I feel like I should get a chip like they do in AA...j/k...So i have another question regarding the immunizations...I have received all of the shots including the Hep series but I have no documentation to prove it...does anyone know about how much it costs to get the titer lab run? Also where I would be able to do that?

Hi everyone, I started getting nervous about not hearing from the school so i started looking around for forums and happened upon this one. Thank you so much for starting it and all the information posted on it. I applied with 29 points so it sounds like i should be good but i will drive myself crazy until i get the call. However i wont be as crazy since i know there was such a low number of applicants. I really hope they start making those calls soon. I also hope they dont alter the number of students allowed in. As long as the applicants pre-reqs are completed i dont think it would be fair decide to allow less students into the program but that is just my opinion. For anyone who is already in the program i was wondering about the immunizations. When do we have to have them all completed by? Is it the first day of class or do we have some extra time?
