How hard is it to get a job w no experience?
Never fear. I finished CNA training in July and applied to a major hospital in July, August, and September and finally got a PCT full time ortho job. Good luck! Keep trying. The right manager will come along that wants fresh CNA's, not ones that have been ruined by working in a nursing home.

Working nights....tips anyone?
Thank you! Good advice. I hear that night shift crews are very close. I think getting to know your coworkers and forming a bond makes for such a more pleasant work environment. I am really hoping that that first 12 hour shift will be ok with the help of caffeine and just plain adrenalin due to the newness of everything. Do you think I should try to stay up as late as I can the night before and then try to sleep some in the daytime before I go at 7? I have never been a very good day sleeper, but I haven't really ever had to be. My husband and kids will all be off to school every morning before I even get home so I'm thinking I can just crawl into bed and catch up then.

Working nights....tips anyone?
Hi everyone. I just got a full time nights PCT position in a large hospital's ortho unit. I start in about three weeks. I was wondering if anybody had any tips for me as I have never worked nights.

Job interview
Congratulations on a hospital interview. Most HR depts in big hospitals feel that CNA's need to "pay their dues" in nursing homes before getting on at a hospital. Just stress your desire to learn all you can and get your feet wet in your future career. My interview questions have mainly been more about my ability to get along with colleagues, deal with patient family crises, etc.

can a cna get a jog in the ER or Labor and Delivery dept?
I just got a pct job offer at a major hospital after applying for all open pct positions for about two months. I took the CNA class and feel it was totally worth it.
