Too low of gpa to get in?
Hello everyone it's jamjams here and this time I am looking for a nursing program again. I am very nervous because I just graduate with my bs in public health and I wanted to apply to a nursing school and get in. Aside from that I wanted to see if anyone can help me probably have some hope. The problem is that I graduated with a 2.3 gpa In my institution but my overall gpa is 2.7 idk if this is good enough to get me into a program but I really don't know who to talk to. All know is that I want to get into nursing and I want to be a nurse some day but my gpa is holding me back. I know that I can be a great nurse, I already work in the hospital and as bad as this seems I jealous the nurses everyday I think that maybe that will be me . All nurses please help ? Thank you in advance

Failed my first nursing class
Well apparently I ended up failing my 1st nursing class of my whole nursing program and in a weird way I don't feel down, I don't feel sad, I honestly don't feel angry either because somehow someway I feel as thou I really needed to step my game up (all though I really did try so hard) but instead try harder than I have it my first time and I'm okay with having to retake the class because I want to learn as much as I can. I felt like the first time I was learning to just learn and not learning to actually know. Next quarter is going to be a little bit difficult but I thought about what I can do different and how to be better prepared. Hope you all are doing good btw xoxo

Failed my first pathphysiology exam
I am just so devastated I didn't do as I thought I would and so afraid that I won't pass my first ever nursing course!! I got my results back from our first patho exam and I scored a 65% luckily there are 4 exams and the first one is the only one worth 10% the rest are worth 15% but it just breaks my heart to see that the first exam I took and I bombed it. What if the next one isn't good either then my chances of completing the course with an 80% will out. I just don't know what to do I am just so scared

It's my birthday! & all I want is
To start my nursing classes already lol I turn 24 today and feel like I should have already been done with nursing and should have been started working in a hospital right now lol but hey life doesn't always work out the way you planned it. I was wondering how many credits is your program for you to graduate? Mines is a BSN 2 year and 180 credits. It's mostly 4 years 2 year prereqs and the other 2 year nursing courses. Do tell me about your program? I've heard from some 180 credits is ridiculous and others that's too little.

If nursing doesn't work out
It's crazy how I never honestly truly gave it a thought that I would need to come up with a plan B if nursing doesn't happen. I have never put that question in my head but from hearing from a close personal friend of mine had failed her med surg class or was it labor and delivery? Either way she failed by a couple of points but the program allowed her a second chance to have her do better. But still I never really gave myself another option as if I do not want to end up being dropped from the program. Now I'm here just thinking like should I start with a plan B? Has anyone ever done this?

How soon to prepare for NCLEX?
That's a really great question, I have also been wondering about that for sometime but decided to just start on it on my breaks like Christmas break, spring break, summer break so I can familiarize myself with it and you know just practice alittle bit. Then hopefully when I get done with nursing school I'm going to seriously be focused and those little practice I've been doing would only benefit me :)

Advice Needed: Buy or Rent These Books?
Hey there! I am also starting my first semester of nursing courses & I have also debated between renting or buying but I have come to the conclusion that I would rather buy my books instead because when I need to go back on it to refreshes what I leads the previous quarter or so I can just go to my book shelf and grab it instead of having the trouble to rent again. Also, it will help you ALOT when your studying for the NCLEX!

Hello quick question
I am excited to say that I start my nursing program this August but I'm a little nervous since a lot of people have been telling me to kiss my social life good bye and begin to marry this program lol seriously am anxious to start.! So I was wondering what books should I read or brush up on before I start my program? What are good tips you would give for first year nursing students and also please recommend some study tips that have helped you succeed thus far :)

Prayer and patience
Anything to help anyone out because sometimes we feel as though we are going through it alone. Thank you and best of luck to you, I will keep you in my prayers :)

Prayer and patience
A little prayer and patience is what I needed. Only god knows how many times I rushed to wanting to become a nurse that all the obsticles came in my direction. I went through so much within these years of trying to find myself and who I wanted to be in these colleges (yes plural) going from one college to one university then going back to community colleges. God it was so much to take in. I suffered my first F's and tears from being suspended from the university, thinking that all that would never take me anywhere and that I should just quit before I make any more damage. I managed to watch my best friends graduate with degrees in their hands like why could it have not been me on that stage. I kept asking god why's that I never asked myself "why not?" I was wrong. You see I rushed to get far but all that did was push me back. It put me situations where I would cry myself to sleep because I felt this was to hard and that all this work I am doing would amount to nothing in the end. But I didn't give up.I couldnt. I didn't end it all by taking the easy way out. I fought, I failed but I fought. And today marks the greatest day of all. THE DAY I GOT ACCEPTED. Finally, I have been accepted into a nursing program that starts this august. I couldn't be any more happier than I am right now. The feeling is so surreal and I am still awaiting on someone to pinch so I can wake up from this beautiful dream. The moral of this post was to help anyone who has felt as though they can't fight anymore , or that they are lost and feel that they wont make it. Please don't give up because all you need is alittle prayer and patience. Love , Jamjams

Please help
I am currently in the process of applying to many nursing schools. I have really good grades, not that great but one school I went to I did horrible and when I say horrible I am talking about 3 D's 1 F & 2 Withdrawls. I was put on academic probation so I decided to move out of the state and move here where I currently reside. I started a little community college and ONLY transferred in the first colleges transcripts that I ever attended since I had a 3.4 GPA there and kept my grades up here at this school. My question is do I have to send all 3 transcripts or can I just send the 2 transcripts where I did really good or even if I don't send it to them will they find out since there is a huge gap? Or should I just send it to them so they can see that I improved and that I'm not that person who was getting bad grades during that situation? Please help I honestly don't know what to do I am scared this will effect my chances of getting in especially since I finally got a position to be a canadiate at one of the schools I was hoping for.

Is this my year?
Hello fellow nursing students, graduates, and/or visitors. First let me start off by saying excuse the horrible typos for I am using an ipad and I am fairly new at this lol but anyway I have been having such a hard time trying to get into nursing schools and finally I feel as thou I am going to get accepted by one. Although, it is not my first choice who am i to complain? Anywho I went in for an interview at Stratford university today and the advisor I was very sweet. She showed me around and gave me all the information I needed to get started. I had already taken the teas 5 exam a d didn't do so well to apply to Marymount (which was my first choice) but apparently the score I had received was good enough for Stratford. Any who I am in the process if finishing up my application and fingers crossed I get into it for this August. Keep me in your prayers and if anyone knows anything about this school please do tell your experiences and if you do or don't like why and why not. Thank you for readings this long venting post do reply :)

Nervous about Teas
Thank you for letting me know how it went, the agony of just waiting to take the test is driving me crazy.

Who is currently waiting to hear?
Oh that is funny I recently applied for the Marymount University for the spring admission in Virginia as well goodluck to you, have you taken the teas exam by any chance?
-
Nervous about Teas
Oh good luck ! And yes please let me know how it goes, I didn't bother getting the practice exam because the ati manual has an answer key in the back so that's like my practice I guess? But I look forward to what you think of the exam after taking it :)

Nervous about Teas
Do you know how much the McGraw book costs? I've heard similar things where the science part isn't covered much in the ati manual but good luck to you

Nervous about Teas
Thank you, I'm glad it helped you now I can stop stressing about it not being enough. I only have a month to study, I hope it's enough time.

Nervous about Teas
Hello all, I am a new member here. I decided to post about the teas, I know there are plenty of topics for me to go through; or my topic has been covered before but I don't want to go through every single page. Anywho, I am going to take my teas Nov 16th and I am nervous as heck. I recently bought the study manual from the ATI website and I am just curious if it really helps or not? If anyone bought the study manual and took the actual exam can you please let me know what you thought of it? Was it similiar? difficult? easier? etc. Thanks for reading/responding hope to hear from any of you :)
