That was me the entire month too. Last time I checked their call center was down because they were being moved. So if you can't get through by phone, send them an email.

I have also been contacted early December about being tentatively selected. Was asked to send in my fall transcript as soon as I can and wait for official announcements this month. Any insight to the timeline of the process will be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Advice Needed: Buy or Rent These Books?
Hello, I'm starting my first semester of an entry-level MSN program and am wondering how to buy my books for the topics listed below. I am debating between buying them or renting them. Thanks in advance. - Nursing Fundamentals - Pathophysiology - Contemporary Nursing - Physical Assessments/Examinations

Kno vs VitalSource E-book
I was told we are to get our own books. So there are no discount. So I'm just trying to see which platform students find more beneficial before I start buying my textbooks.

Kno vs VitalSource E-book
I am starting my first semester of nursing soon and am debating between Kno and VitalSource. Which one is has better tools and is easier to study from? How does printing work on each platform? Would appreciate opinions from those who have experience both platforms. But all advice is welcomed. Thanks in advance!

RN program worth it?
I was recently accepted into an entry-level MSN program, due to start in January. It is a 2 year full time program with a tuition that costs about 63k. Recently, I got a promotion at work, giving me a new salary of 65k/year. Now I'm debating if nursing is worth it or not considering the steep tuition, I would have to resign from my job if I do the program. If i continue working, I would end up making about 68k in 2 years. Versus going into nursing, using up all my savings and coming out with student loans in 2 years. My other concerns are finding employment in nursing or ending up with a position that pays less than what I'm getting right now. Would it be worth it for me to do the nursing program? What are new grad nurse salaries in southern California?

Charles Drew University EL-MSN Spring 2014
Welcome! One of the professors told me that an updated textbook list will be emailed soon. So I'm waiting on that before purchasing any textbooks. Gives me time to decide if I want ebooks or physical books lol. As for the curriculum conflicting the schedule.. I don't see any conflicts. I'm sure more info will be coming. I was told they would help us register for our classes during orientation.

I am quitting my full time job too. What sucks is that I just got promoted and a huge 8% raise this month! So I have to give it all up, but it'll be worth it in the long run. I was able to reach 2 of the professors and one of them said that since students are buying their own books this term, he's not requiring the online course. So I'm sure a lot of these items listed are things we don't need. I'm just wondering if we need everything new or we can buy old books or rent them. My friend who went through nursing school said that ebooks helped her a lot when she had to write papers. So I think I'm going to get ebooks. Just wondering if we can get ebooks for the ones that are listed as physical books. Anyways, for Nursing 516 we only need the main textbook. For 520, we need the USMLE and Jarvix ab manual, pocket companion and the textbook. Hope this helps. I'm assuming we only need the main textbook for 500. Still waiting to hear about 511. That's the class with the most textbooks! I was thinking maybe we can exchange emails so we can contact each other regarding class? I tried to pm you, but I can't find the pm button on your profile for some reason. Pm me if you're interested. Or we can keep going on here... but it doesn't really seem like the right place to go on and on about our classes.

Yes I'm from California, although it's still quite a commute from where I'm at. Where are you from? I tried making some rhyme and reason to the textbook list. It seems like the online course things comes with an access code. And when I look up the e-book for that, it says it's free with access code. I'm trying to figure out if they're talking about the same access code. Would be nice to just buy the online course one and have the e-book for free. That will reduce a lot of cost. I might have to learn how to make e-books work for me if that's the case.

I still need to send that in, but I'm not in a hurry because I'm not taking out loans the first year. The interest is too high for me. Did you take a look at the textbook list? Yikes, I wonder if we really need all of that. Debating if I want to use just the e-book or should I get a physical book too. I think I study better off physical books (I'm old school that way). But the cost all add up.
