Hi acunha: Where will you be commuting from? I live in Bonita/Chula Vista area and was wondering the same thing. tnt1nees: They say it takes 6-8 weeks from when they receive everything to review. At 6-7 weeks after I turned in my TEAS score, I received my academic evaluation. I received my conditional acceptance email 1-2 weeks after that and a few days later, I received the conditional acceptance letter (which said exactly the same thing as the email.) Good luck!

@Sammin: I first got an email saying I got an acceptance notification from the National University Nursing department. Then another email (which was sent to all the applicants) that we can check our admission status on SOAR. A few hours later, I got an email (sent to Cohort 33 accepted students) about the orientation and compliance packet. Hope that helps! Good luck again!

@acunha: I also decided to go to CSU San Marcos! I sent in the form to not attend NU yesterday. See ya at orientation!

I didn't even know this thread existed! Congrats to all that got accepted to Cohort 33. I also got accepted but will be declining the offer so hopefully if anyone got an "alternate" status that you get my spot! @lynn_08: The ATI book should prepare you enough for the TEAS. Make sure you do the online practice test as the format is very similar. I also used the McGraw-Hill's 5 TEAS Practice Tests and "Cracking the Nursing School Entrance Exams (Graduate School Test Preparation)" Princeton Review. I studied for about 4 weeks before and got 86% (my reading comprehension score brought me down because I started to run out of time and had to rush through the end). It's been a while since I've taken any of these courses so I really needed to brush up on the material. I felt that doing a lot of practice tests helped me out a lot. For the essay, not really much you can do in preparing for it. Just know how to write an essay with the 5 paragraph format. Do a quick outline of what you'll discuss and you should be good to go. Just watch punctuation and spelling.

Hi emily45, I just received an email saying the orientation is on December 10 from 8am-12pm. I sent my intent to enroll deposit yesterday. I haven't received info on background check yet, but I did receive an email to apply to the University via CSU Mentor. Can't wait to meet all of you! Congrats to everyone again!

To those that applied to the ABSN program..I just got an email this morning and got accepted :) I'll be declining my offer leaving another spot open since I accepted my offer at CSU San Marcos. That's funny cuz I almost went to Davis! But I decided to stay closer to home. I only applied to San Marcos and National. Did you get into the other schools?

I went to UCI. What about you? Did you apply to programs out in the Bay as well?

@acunha: Just curious..if you get accepted to NU before the deadline to send your deposit, will you accept their offer instead of San Marcos?

I actually live in SD so I won't be looking for a place to stay, but there are neighborhoods near CSU San Marcos that you can find housing at...if there are other people that are also looking for a place you can probably rent a house. I guess it really depends on how far of a commute you are willing to have and what type of place/neighborhood you're looking for. But I don't know if it matters if you live near the school or not because we'll be driving around to different sites for clinicals.

Hi Sashapatra, Thanks! I saw your post on the other thread too, but I'll answer here. Sorry, not quite sure what my total points are since I don't know what they used as my gpa for my last 60 units. But, if it helps, I got an 86% on my TEAS and 3.3 pre-nursing score GPA. Good luck and hope you hear from them soon! And if anyone is curious about my timeline: submitted my app and app fee at the end of July, submitted my transcripts at the end of August, took my TEAS and submitted my score on Sept. 21, got my evaluation sheet Oct. 25th, got my acceptance email last Friday, and the acceptance letter in the mail yesterday.

What did you get on your TEAS if you don't mind sharing.

@acunha: Congrats! I also got accepted to San Marcos ABSN Spring 2013..I just received my letter in the mail today. I'm also waiting to hear on NU and trying to read info on what other students from the programs say about each of the schools, but it's been difficult to find some current comments. @SammiN: Yes, if the deposit isn't given by the time frame, then we'd lose our spot.

Hi everyone! I'm so excited! I've been accepted to the Spring 2013 cohort for the San Marcos campus! Can't wait to meet you all! Good luck to everyone still waiting and congrats to everyone that has been accepted. I'm really nervous to start but at the same time very anxious. @kaolla: I'm not sure if the cohorts are full, but I know they were sending out emails and letters on Friday. Who knows...some people may decline their offer. I think I've read from past posts that some people didn't even find out until a week before classes started. Good luck on the TEAS!

Just received an email. Guess we won't be knowing until later this week or so since the last of the essay evaluations were just received back today.

I just tried calling to see if we'll still be notified by the end of the month (since tomorrow is the last day of October); however, I got transferred and got a voicemail. I hate to bother, but I may send an email tomorrow if there's still no word. So anxious and nervous!
