    Maricopa CEP Fall 2018

Hi, I did not see a forum for us that have applied this round of CEP for Fall 2018, so I figured I would start one. I applied for GCC weekend and Ottawa with 19 points (I believe).

NRSNG vs. SIMPLE NURSING vs ??

Hi, I am currently in Block I and have been debating signing up for NRSNG or Simple Nursing to help learn the material more. My goal would be to be able to review videos on specific topics and take practice quizzes, like for F&E or Lab Values and to also have comprehensive practice test for when I am preparing for the end of the Block HESI exams, for example a practice test for Fundamentals. Any thoughts about these two or other ones out there? Are they worth it?

    CEP Point System

Hi, I met with a nursing advisor yesterday, and was explained the point system. I forgot to ask him though what the average points are, for the people getting into the CEP program. I am specifically looking for the Glendale weekend program, but would like to hear from anybody if they happen to know. I am trying to think of how many points I need to be competitive. Thanks.

    Maricopa CEP Fall 2018

I was told it would be through E-mail, because I am going out of country this Wednesday and I wanted to clarify that I didn't need to physically be here to receive it. The advisor told me, no I just need access to my e-mail.

    Pocket Prep App

Hi, i am studying for the Hesi A2 and am hoping to take it in about 2 weeks. I have the evolve book, and ordered the book with the 3 practice tests. I will only be tested on the Reading, Vocabulary, Grammar, and Math. I see a lot of people recommending the pocket prep app for A&P and was wondering if it's good for the above areas as well? If so, is it pretty comparable to the test, in that if I do well on the app I should do well in the exam? Since I have the other 2 books, is the app even needed? Thanks!

    CEP Point System

Hi, They never got back with me on the average score. I put my name on the list for the Gateway evening non-CEP program, but also plan to study and re-take my HESI to see if I can score high enough to get me in the 20 point range to try and get in earlier and into the weekend program, which is what would work best for me.

    CEP Point System

I emailed the school with my question, so we'll see what they respond with. I'm thinking I have to retake my HESI to get more points with this new system.
  10. Hi, For those of you who got in this last round, can you tell me how many points you had?

    CEP Point System

When I went in and spoke with the advisor last Wednesday, he actually went over the point system with me and gave it to me on paper. I have all my pre-req done for the university, and have a prior degree (which you only get 2 points for that, no matter what the degree from AA-Doctor). He did suggest I retake the HESI, to get more points from that. I just forgot to ask him how many points the students have that are getting in. If the students getting in all have 25 out of the 25 points available, then only retaking the HESI isn't going to cut it for me. He told me I currently am sitting at 16 points.
  12. At GCC it would be Spring. I didn't know if they included an orientation date or anything in the email that was sent out.
  13. For those that got accepted into Glendale Community College, when is orientation? Thanks.
  14. I have not heard anything. I'm thinking I didn't get in.

    Spring 2018 CEP

I'm waiting to hear from GCC weekend, and now I am getting nervous!
  16. I received an email from ASU today that basically stated that the prior email I received saying I have been accepted into the CEP program with them, was a mistake and I have not been accepted yet.
  17. Thanks! I received an email from ASU on Tuesday with acceptance, just waiting to hear back from Glendale now! í ½í¸«
  18. Is GCC Glendale community college or Gayeway? I am waiting to hear back from Glendale so trying to see if other people have heard from them yet.
  19. I applied to Glendale too, but I have not heard anything back from them yet. I have heard from ASU though. If anyone from Glendale hears anything, please let me know!
  20. Just FYI- I got an email today from ASU accepting me into the CEP portion, as long as I am accepted into the Maricopa Nursing.
  21. Hm, I didn't get my application back. They took both of them.
  22. Hi Everyone! I submitted both the CEP and the CC Nursing application yesterday at Glendale CC for the weekend program. I did not get a time stamp or anything for the CC application, and am not sure if that matters but I see lots of people talking about it. Anyways, I submitted CC for only the weekend program as I work 10 hour shifts during the week. As far as University I put ASU, UIU, and Ottawa so we'll see what happens!

Has anyone dropped out of CEP?

Hi, I will be applying for the weekend program at Glendale Community College after I finish this Math class in May. When I started working towards the Nursing program, GCC was not 100% CEP, and now they are. Unfortunately doing the weekend program is the only option I can do due to my work schedule and such. I have heard from several people that the BSN classes are not hard, just time consuming, but that is time that is taken away to study for the Maricopa classes if needed. My question is, has anyone started the CEP and after the 1st semester decide it was just too much? Are we able to stop the CEP and continue on in the Nursing program? If it ends up not being too stressful, great but I want to make sure I haven't gone through all this for nothing, if it ends up being too much to do while working full time.

Has anyone dropped out of CEP?

My boss would, 1 of our co-workers is currently in the weeknight program, so I see her stressing out about the long days, plus she still has class on the weekends sometimes so she doesn't get much time to study. My thought is that it might be less stressful having the classes on the weekends, when I am not working, and be able to study during the weeknights but I could be wrong.
