  1. @NCKate Hi! I’m not saying it’s a definite that everyone received it, but that’s how it appears. I know many applicants in real life that also received the same emails but no interview. We also received the account set up email as well. There are a lot of applicants for FNP, so perhaps the pool was narrowed down to a large sum and then narrowed down again. Not sure why they would send out the email either other than to maybe give an update to reduce calls and emails. Easiest thing would be to send all. It’s quite frustrating because it does get your hopes up, but the group I speak with all noticed it was very vague. We were all under consideration for a potential interview. ??‍♀️ I wish they would have just sent out a rejection. I made the dumb decision to hold off on applying to other schools when I received those emails. I didn’t want to wear out my recommender’s. Now I’m regretting it and the deadlines are too close to ask now. ??‍♀️
  2. I did not receive an invite to interview. I did receive the same email though. Everyone I’ve heard from (on here and in real life) received those emails last month. I think it might have been a generic that went out to all applicants and that’s why they worded it carefully to say “under consideration for a potential interview.” ?
  3. Thank you! It was my second attempt. Not sure why I can’t make it to the interview process, but after two failed attempts it’s obviously not meant to be. Best of luck to you all!
  4. I did not get an interview.
  5. Thanks for the update and congrats! I was hoping they hadn’t sent them out yet since I didn’t receive anything, but at least now I know and I can move on.
  6. Any FNP candidates receive an invite?
  7. I received my rejection email this afternoon. Best of luck to the rest of you.
  8. I’m not. ? I was accepted for their ABSN, but just couldn’t afford it. However, I work for Duke on the hospital side now and have met/know many who have attended (we receive education benefits). One dating back to the 80’s. I’ve heard nothing but positive reviews. I’ve been told if you can go, you go.
  9. Hey everyone! So sorry I’m late to reply. I work Monday’s and yesterday was rough. ? I did call and I received the same information. We will be receiving communication the first week of July. If you’re asked to interview you will choose days/times from a schedule, and then they will make decisions in mid-July. She said typically once you’re “under faculty review” it can take up to 6 weeks before they make decisions on interviews. My application got in a little later (application was on time but one of my recommendations was late submitting), so not sure if that applies to me as well. Fingers crossed for everyone! I’m hoping since it’s a holiday week that they get them out before 4th of July. ?
  10. That’s exactly what I was thinking. Yes, I will definitely update! ?
  11. I was going to ask if anyone had heard anything. Nothing on my end. I figured it would be a Friday, but I checked this evening and It still days “under faculty review”. I’m going to call next week ?
  12. Thank you! Ill post if I hear anything. Otherwise, I’ll make the call next week if we don’t hear anything. We can rotate lol
  13. Wow! Thank you! That’s much faster than previous years. I wonder how they’re able able to make decisions so quickly this year. Maybe doing away with the GRE requirements made it a quicker process. Secretly I’m hoping not many applicants to compete with. lol Well, I wasn’t thinking much about it before, but now I’m getting nervous. Glad to know things are moving along quickly though! Thanks for the update!
  14. Thanks BJohnson4278! Did they ask what program you applied for, or is that for all programs?
  15. That would be awesome if they did later this month. From what I’ve read from previous cohorts, they don’t usually start sending out until early July.
  16. Oh yes, I’m sure we’re on different timelines. I wish other applicants saw this post so that we could compare more appropriately. I’m being realistic and not getting my hopes up. If I don’t hear anything by August, then I’ll start completing applications for fall 2020 cohorts.
  17. The deadlines for the FNP program for spring cohorts are May 1st and the fall cohorts are Dec 1st. I’m not sure if other programs have the same deadlines or not.
  18. Hi! I submitted my application for FNP in April, but my final recommendation wasn’t completed until this past week. ? Not sure how it works for other programs, but the email I received said late applications would only be considered on a space available basis. For that reason, I’m not feeling hopeful considering the competitiveness of the FNP program. I did notice the status changed to “Under faculty review.” Not sure if that’s generalized to everyone with applications, or if my application is actually being reviewed. I only say that because I started an application in the past (never submitted) and the status still changed during their selection process. ??‍♀️Best of luck to you both??. I’ll check back in if I receive anymore updates. ?
  19. running05, she said a few but didn't give an exact number, but there's no certainty that everyone that was invited will accept either. Plus, it's only the month of September. I'm sure more spots will open from those that accepted and later changed their mind. Also, I don't believe UNC-Chapel Hill has made their admissions decision yet. It has happened in the past where students accepted to both schools end up selecting UNC due to cost. It's an excellent school as well. I certainly understand wanting to look at other options in the meantime. I went ahead and started another nursing program in case I never heard from Duke, but don't count them out yet either. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.
  20. Thank you homelife! Yes, I'm sure. . I actually checked into it already. The last day for me to receive a refund was the 27th. If I quit now, I have to pay back my loans and scholarships for not completing the minimum 60% of the semester. It's okay. I knew this scenario was a possibility when I started the program, but I didn't want to give up my seat in case I never heard back from Duke. It's a good university and a good program. I am loving the curriculum even though it's intense (sleeping is now a luxury). I now know without a doubt that nursing is the field I want to be in, but the school is not the right fit for me for many reasons. So, I'm psyched Duke has offered me this opportunity. Running05 and anyone else still waiting, I have my fingers crossed for you! It's only September so don't give up!
  21. Thank you vbee! I am so excited!!! I can't withdraw from the program I am in right now, so I will just finish out the semester. It can only help me, right? Now to figure out whether to sell or rent our house, where to live, how to pay, etc.
  22. Thank you running05! I was sent an email yesterday afternoon to view the updated decision.
  23. I got in!!! :) Don't give up if you're still on the wait list! Hope to see you all in January!
  24. Vbee, How was your first day? :)
  25. Vbee, That is wonderful news! Congratulations, I wish you the very best! You will be awesome!
