Hi cdiaz4139. I think it just means you're application is complete (everything submitted) because once NursingCas received my final document, UM emailed me that my application was officially complete and that I should hear from them within the next few weeks. Have you had your interview yet?

DreamRN2017, Congrats on making it through the interview! I'm sure you did well & just feel overwhelmed with the anticipated outcome. I hope to hear from them and have the opportunity to interview as well. Were the general questions similar to others that posted (i.e. 5 year plan, role of NP, etc.)? Anyway, good luck and I'm sure you'll hear from them with positive news!

Hi Dreamrn2017! It was actually UM who had informed me of that. Luckily the last reference was submitted and UM emailed me that everything had been completed & verified. They said they'll start reviewing my application & that I should hear from them soon. It's nerve wracking! Lol

Hi everyone! I submitted my application at the end of June. However, I am waiting on my last letter of recommendation to be submitted. So, they (at UM's office) informed me that they wouldn't be able to finalize my application until its submitted. I'm hoping to have the last recommendation in by the end of the week, fingers crossed! Anyway, good luck to everyone!

Nova Southeastern University Entry Level BSN Winter 2014
@yankeesgirl907, from my understanding the immunization records and physical are to be submitted by March 1st, which I'm assuming is before second semester when we start going to clinicals. I'm not exactly sure if that's the current deadline, but it's what I've seen on their website. I would call to confirm.

Nova Southeastern University Entry Level BSN Winter 2014
@yankeesgirl907, I actually just submitted my documents to financial aid yesterday. So, I have no idea what I will qualify for. Whatever the pell grant plus student loan don't cover, will probably require a private loan (in my case, at least). I'm really hoping I won't need a private loan but I'll cross that bridge when I get there. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. :-/

@semundy1211, congrats on your acceptance! I, too, got a 60 on the science. That was rough. Lol. It hit me hard because it brought my overall down to a 79%. I got 89% on my math, and between 83-86% on the reading, grammar, vocab section. I've never taken the Teas but I hear it's really hard. Ive taken the HESI and did way better. The Kaplan was way harder. So, you can actually call and get more info on how you scored/how it compared to the average? What campus are you going to?

@yankeesgirl907, I was sick too! Not cold sick bit knots in stomach and nausea. So, you're not alone. Lol. I hope you're feeling better though! Yes, deferment meant that I had to interview and write again. I didn't have to apply or pay an application fee. I was taking my last set of required classes. So, I sent in my final transcripts after they deferred me and that placed me on the first teir the second time around.

@yankeesgirl907, I know how you feel. I checked my v.i.p page multiple times a day and stressed so much that I started to think negatively. It was the worst thing I could've done. Be positive! I'm more than sure admissions knows that we may not have performed as well as we could have on the Kaplan considering the short notice. The fact that they chose to interview you is a positive already. Even with classes in progress, they still wanted to meet you. Their acceptance factors more than just the Kaplan score. If they cared mostly about the score, they wouldn't go through the hassle of interviewing so many potential candidates. So, although they've added the Kaplan, your gpa, interview and writing sample may be strong enough. Also, we don't really know how most people scored. So, don't stress yourself out. You've come this far, be positive. Have faith and know that regardless of the decision they make, you will be a great nurse one day. Everything happens for a reason. As a matter of fact, I initially applied at the beginning of this year and had my interview in May for the Fall 2013 program. I was still in the process of taking 3 classes and they didn't have the Kaplan requirement. During my interview, they asked "if you could be a flower, which flower would you be and why?". Out of all questions, this was probably the worst because I hate flowers. LOL. I don't care for them. I think they are beautiful but I don't care to receive them or know much about them for that matter. So, I gave them the most cliche answer (a white rose that, for me, represented purity and honesty...then I tied in being a nurse can be seen in that way too). Cliche, right? Lol. Needless to say, I figured I had bombed it. During the writing sample, I was so caught up in trying to impress them, that I ran out of time and rushed through it. I love to write and I pride myself on my writing. So, I knew that wasn't my best work and that it would count against me. I wasn't accepted but placed on deferment. They didn't want to completely deny me because I had "potential". So, I saw it as a way to improve. This time around (minus the Kaplan), I had more confidence in both my response during the interview and my writing sample. I prayed about it and left it in God's hands because after the Kaplan, there was nothing more to do than to wait...and stalk my v.i.p page. LOL. Being accepted this time around, meant that much more to me. Never count yourself out. My interview was the 9th and I didn't receive my official acceptance email until this past Thursday. So, just be patient. Give it about another week, and then go ahead and bug them about your status. Lol. I wish you the best of luck through your journey. :) By the way, I totally didn't mean to write a book on here. Sorry for the long reply. Lol.

@yankeesgirl907, I definitely agree with what you said about the HESI being so much more easier than the Kaplan. I, too, took the HESI and was accepted to Broward College as my backup. When was your interview with Nova? Have you emailed anyone from admissions as to the status of your application? That's what I did (about 1.5 weeks after my interview) and was told I was accepted and should be receiving the official email when BC sent my final transcripts. A few days later, I received my acceptance email and was notified through my v.i.p. page. Stay positive, nonetheless. :-)

@kkong123 No, it's not weird. Lol. I agree. We won't feel so alone. Haha. I do have Facebook. If you want, you can send me a personal message on here and we'll exchange emails to find each other on fb.

@yankeesgirl907, I don't think critical thinking is added to your overall score that's shown on top of the page. Sorry, if I may have confused you. I just threw out all my info. Lol. Im not too sure if you're able to see the scores now. I only saw them when i finished the rest. I would email some one from admissions (I recommend Mallory, only because she's the one I spoke to regarding any questions). I would wait about a week or so from your interview date to email her. By then, she may have more info regarding your status.

@yankeesgirl907, I just got my acceptance. So, I figured I'd share my kaplan score. My overall score was 79%. I did really well on every section except science. So, the science dropped my overall score to 79%. Also, I know that the critical thinking score shown at the bottom wasn't factored in, but they did provide a score for that too. I got an 88% on critical thinking. I think I did really well on the interview and writing sample. My overall gpa is 3.35 (not the best) and my science gpa was 3.75. Hope this helps. :-)

I had my interview on the 9th and still nothing. The last I heard regarding my application was they needed to verify my credits were valid from BC, which she said is the process for every applicant. Then I'd hear something officially. I hope to hear something back by this week! I am, however, registered for BC's nursing program as a back-up, just in case Nova doesn't accept me. I really want Nova though. Lol
