  1. Thank you so much for your tips and words of encouragement! Looking forward to Mark Klimek's review because I definitely need help with answering those nclex questions. Good luck on your interviews!!!
  2. The weather really sucks but I know it's because I grew up in HI and lived in so-CA so I'm not used to it. On those gloomy, cold, rainy, windy days I just want to bundle up in my sweats and blanket and drink a nice cup of tea and do nothing else. It does make it difficult to study because I feel like I'm on some hibernation mode or something. There was a week of really nice weather during the second to the last week of October but that was short lived. Good luck in school! 7 months will fly by quick.
  3. Thank you so much for posting this. I recently took the NCLEX on 10/28 and failed at 117 q's. It is such an awful feeling. I still can't help to feel disappointed in myself. My family and friends have been really supportive and I am so glad to have read your posting because it makes me realize that everything will be ok. I graduated in Sept and recently moved to OH 2 months ago from CA. Perhaps I did plan on the NCLEX a bit earlier than I should have because believe it or not, my body is still adjusting to the time difference and COLD weather. I studied for about 3 weeks by doing constant questions (100-200 a day) from NCSBN 3-week review, Kaplan Q-bank, some Saunders, and LaCharity's PDA. By the week of my exam, my scores were consistently in the high 50's-mid 60's and I thought that would be suffice, apparently not. I have heard about Mark's NCLEX review course and plan on taking it in Nov and retake my exam sometime in Dec. Btw, are you still in the Ohio area? Did you get hired as an RN yet?
  4. Hello Javelina, I am currently in CA and will be moving to Dayton, OH sometime in Aug/Sept this yr (2014) bc hubby is active duty air force. I was wondering how was your job search experience. I'm finishing up my BSN in Aug this yr and plan on taking the NCLEX at OH sometime in Sept/Oct/Nov pending how quick the test arrangement is. I have 1 yr experience as a student nurse technician at the VA and previous healthcare experience as a pharm tech. Any advice would be much appreciated!
  5. I accepted NU commons. Its pretty cool, haven't explored much into but there's a bunch of updates on new students, those who want to sell their textbooks as well as nursing info such as those who were accepted into the nursing program (mainly fm the SD & Fresno campus). I was hoping to find others who were accepted to LA Cohort 8 but no one seem to be on there.
  6. I surprisingly made it in as well!
