  1. Really, If a company wanted to retain their personnel then when something is lodged against the RN it should be thoroughly investigated by a private company. Not your boss or another manager. If you are good with staff and patients, and another employee is jealous of you or your position anything may happen. Especially, if one has been working in a company for 4 years and all of a sudden a new employee comes in and starts making accusations. I would be looking at the newcomer instead of the long time employee. Interpersonal skills my aunt patudie. give me a break. You are being ridiculous.
  2. That is exactly right. We are not suppose to make any educated decisions or nursing descretions. WE are ROBOTS. YES, MASTER, AS YOU WISH MASTER. OK MASTER. Hey, it sounds like 1849 all over again. We are slaves to the political game of Health care.
  3. I am glad the facility did not turn your license in to the State Board of Nursing. You may have gone on probation or worse yet had your license revoked/. Such is the case in Modesto CA. Do NOT I repeat DO NOT work at Memorial Hospital Associates or Sutter if you value your license. If you should rock the boat you will be turned into the state board. I did and was and was put on probation for no reason but jealousy. I paid a large fine and had to take many classes while unemployed. I had worked for this company 3 different times. The last time I was hired as a charge nurse. I am the only charge nurse that actually got off my dead end and helped the floor nurses. Someone who had worked there 6 months accused me of giving a placebo instead of Zofran. PLease, come on, are you for real??????? German Baptist run the floor. So,oh well, I guess I'll go to hell because I told the manager that I believed she was being partial to them. I left the same day I was accused and haven't been in a hospital since them. That was in April 2004. I would not trust this company. I have traveled out of the area to work. Yes, it has been unpleasant but I have kept a job and my sanity. I refuse to let the State Board come between me and my love of work again. By the way, In CA if a facility turns you license into the state you are automatically guilty. According to my high price lawyer and after I gave him $7200.Plus to help me prove my innocence. Also when I examined the paper work my lawyer gave me all 25 pounds of it. I did not see any of my charting in the packets all 12 of them. I went through every page looking for my pain flow sheet that I had written on. Every one else had too for about 10 days, This is part of the chart but it was not in the chart. I wonder what happened to it??? HMMMMM. You decide.
  4. Just to let you know there are plenty of good RNs out there that do know the way to conduct themselves during an interview. But the system has made it very difficult to procure a position in the hospital because I or we do not have at least 1 year of recent experience in the last 2 or 3 years. Never mind the fact that I was a charge nurse 3 months after I received my license or that I have been a clinical nurse in multifaceted areas. I probably could out think any of these new RNs and dance circles around them. I think you are being unfair. Probably not as a person but as a whole. HR is not a good judge of character when it comes to looking at applications and should be left to the managers themselves. Also you would be able to tell if someone was a good candidate if you spent more than 2 minutes on the phone to let them know about an interview. I spent about 15 minutes on a prospective employer and wish I had told her I was not interest in coming for an interview. She didn't pronounce the name of the street she works on correctly or bother to spell it. After I did drive 90 mile in a harrowing traffic jam to have the interview this regional manager had the nerve to read her email while I was telling her what a good employee I was. I would not work under this woman for anything and this goes to prove just because a person has a BS or MS behind their name does NOT make them good managers or administration. BOO HOO for you. I am just saying.
