Well, from my experience from interview day, just make sure you can talk to the people in your group. Once they split you up into groups, they will be walking around looking over your shoulders and listening to your conversations. There were like 2-3 professors walking around the whole time. I don't think the former students did any of the evaluation. Just sound confident and make yourself sound like you are participating without being bossy, and know the subject so that when you stand in front of the class and present you sound like you know what you are talking about. As for the essay part, just make sure you can log on to the system before the interview day. We had a student who couldn't log on that day and he ended up not being a part of the program, not sure if this was the reason but just a warning.

Mondays is simulation day where you go to school from 8-3 if i remember correctly. You will have classes on tuesdays and thurdays. tuesday classes end at around 11-3 or 8-3 depending if you have a test that day. Thursdays you are there until about 6:30 or 7. You will have clinicals on either wednesday or friday. If you have it on one day then you are off the other day to study, do paperwork, etc. You will have some clinicals at Harris County Psychiatric Center and its different for everyone. HCPC has morning shift from 7am-3pm or night shift from 3pm-11pm. You basically have 3 different clinical sites: the hosptial (Med surg), pediatrics, and HCPC. There will be groups with a different mix of these three sites. Hope that helps. Im pretty sure on the times but I might be a bit off.

Graduation for this program is somewhere in Katy.

I think they interviewed around 100 students.

Last year had about 58 or 59 students. I believe they usually accept around 60 students a year.

congrats!!!. Does anyone know what we have to do with the student declaration for criminal background check letter. Do we fax that along with the acceptance letter or is it for when we do our drug test? And when i clicked the link to do the drug screen test, it didnt work, but when i typed it in then it works fine.

i just received my acceptance mail from UHV in my personal email. Yes!!!!! now to do the drug test n everything else. Good luck to everyone.

I have a quick question if anyone can help. I have completed the NursingCAS application and faxed in all my paperwork needed by the school. I am just wondering if I also have to apply to the school itself because there is no instruction in the application process to apply for UHV. Do you apply later after in the process?

Im applying to UHV for the spring class and TWU for the fall class. The deadline for TWU is February so I still have time. Im just worried about my GPA. Its around a 3.1, but I have all A's in my science classes since I took most of them last year. Hopefully my TEAS score helps me out. I got an 87.3.

I think you are going to have a tough time getting a response from the Sugarland location for now because when I called to get an appointment, a lady told me that the advisor had left the job over there and they have a new advisor to take her spot. They have some kind of orientation soon at the Cinco Ranch location soon but I couldnt go cause of school. I just recently applied and turned in all my paperwork. Hope I get in.
