  1. Be aggressive in seeking out learning opportunities! If you do not know something, do not hesitate to make it clear. The key is to focus on what you will learn, not what you do not know! I have always appreciated students that were confident and assertive as these tend to be more reliable. Even if they don't know all the answers I can trust they will find the needed information. Finally, have a "whatever it takes" attitude. Do not focus on what is wrong or out of the typical routine, focus on solutions to any situation you come upon.
  2. Charcoal! Especially if they vomit! The drama with the OG/NG is quite unpleasant as well!
  3. I live in Florida and work in the ED at Tampa General Hospital and work primarily the Peds ED. I am looking at relocating to the Greenville / Anderson area as well. I was wondering about the set up of the Pediatric ER / Adult ER / Trauma Program. Is the Peds Er attached to the adult er? How many Peds ED beds? Do peds traumas go to Peds er, or adult trauma room? What about burns, spinal cord injuries? On my next trip up I plan to connect with management. I would love to connect with any one that can offer first hand information. Thanks! Mike
  4. When I was 15 I got hit with a broom stick on my shin. I had a painful lump for weeks. I finally went away. If it were me, I would take motrin every 6-8 and try to rest it as much as possible. I think you are right, odds are you did not fracture anything. Hope you feel better!
