  1. Hi IndyGypsyNurse I just saw your thread-not sure when you posted this but I am originally from Indianapolis. I used to work at St. Vincent's on 86th street and then St. Francis in Beech Grove. I did a semester at IUPUI back in the day! I wound up moving to Cincinnati and now am in Texas! lol My husband took a new job here in Texas and is very happy. I have done ER for the last ten years and have some Psych experience. I am transitioning now over to Psych full time and was accepted at EKU's program and I start in 5 weeks. EKU stood out to me because they returned all of my phone calls and were so helpful and friendly. EKU is one class every 8 weeks and seems very manageable. Wilkes never called me back. My situation was a little different- I am transferring from UC's FNP program ( I wasn't to clinicals yet) and many programs discouraged me from changing Master degree programs. But to me- it made perfect sense! The longer I stayed in the FNP program- the more I realized it wasn't what I wanted. Life is too short to spend it pursuing something you don't want to do. Not to mention the costs of school and time. I've heard all the arguments and am convinced I am on the right path. Sorry to divert off the given subject! But I would recommend EKU- they seem to have their act together and it was so easy to apply. Best wishes on your career endeavors! Let me know if I can help!
  2. Small minds say stuff like that. You are in this profession to make life better for those that need you to do so. Stay the course, and don't listen to idiots that say those things. You are doing the right thing by helping others!
  3. I am applying to this program for Psych NP- was wondering if anyone here has graduated from this program or currently attending and if so what is your opinion of this program? Also, are you gainfully employed after completion? I am living in Texas and they informed me today that there have been several students in their program from Texas. Thank-you again!
  4. Thank-you for your reply! I was noticing this- I need to work weekends but don't need the benefits because of NP school during the week. We just moved here and I landed at Baylor. I didn't know anything about the hospitals down here and would like to see what other hospitals offer. Thank-you again!
  5. Does anyone know by chance what hospitals in the Dallas Texas area that offer weekend option? Thank-you for your help!
  6. Congrats bebobthefrogRN on getting accepted! I was accepted as well and start the next cohort. At least I'm scheduled too but may not be able. Unless I get funding or help to go I won't be attending. I love Georgetown. It is my first pick but don't think I can afford to go which breaks my heart. I am not fresh out of highschool so my chances of a scholarship are I think slim. Congrats again-
