  1. I am switching from LTC to Case Management and one of my (many) floor managers said to me, "case management is NOT nursing." Like being a waitress and punching bag is. C'mon!
  2. You know, I'd much rather deal with people being on the phone or texting than someone being late. In school, there was one lady who was late everyday and she'd just walk in class like nothing was wrong. Now, as a nurse, when the next shift's nurse is late (which she is - every night), then I'm waiting around to give report. But, being late is a whole other gripe and thread...
  3. I am an RN (brand spankin' new) and obtained a job at an LTC facility. I was so excited because this is where my passion is. I knew when I started school that I wanted to go into LTC or Hospice care. So, when I got this job, for the first few days I loved it, but then the rose colored glasses came off and it's definitely not what I thought it would be. Anyway, long story short, I have had more support from CNA's and floor management than from any other nurse up there except for 3. I had a full blown panic attack last night and had to talk to one of the managers and she took me in to see the DON and we talked and things got calmed down. Well, you can bet the whispering and back stabbing had begun. I truly have never seen so much laziness and just blatant unhelpfulness (is that a word?) in my life with professional nurses. But, my CNA's stayed right with me last night and we got some things done. And they were pleasant about it! Anyway, just wanted to give a shout out to my CNA's. Y'all are appreciated by this humble nurse!
