Good choice, its a great school. A lot of things have changed in only a few months but I would still choose the same school. Just got hired a 2 different home health agencies. Very excited to finally start working. How is everything over there? Haven you schedule your nclex yet?

During block 2 expect 3 tests a week block 1 and 3 1- 2a week

Hey! I officially passed. I took it at the plantation site. I used the Pearson exam cram questions book. Sadly I schedule mine the same week as my math final and the day after i got back from Disney so I didn't get to study the way I wanted. Couldn't focus but the cram book def helped me. It is pretty much the same as the Hesi we take at school. I had 26 select all! I would say know the basics and you'll do fine. For sure know your lab values and therapeutic levels if you know those you'll be pretty ok and can piece together everything. I had about 3 drugs all of which we learned nothing about lol I've applied at a bunch of places online before nclex and after. Today I went and applied in person to a few places. Crossing my fingers! I'm taking chem anatomy and ethics online in January! Sadly Bc only offers the lpn-RN once a year and I won't make it this May so I have to wait til may 15 to get into the program :/ good luck without test! I'm sure you'll do fine! Just know the foundation of each system don't worry too much on anatomy it's more about procedures and positioning. Maybe chest tubes and things like that. Lots of priority and delegation. I hope this helps a bit!! And for starting the lpn just stay AHEAD of the game. Do the packets (if u guys get them) ahead of time read the book and when you get to block 2 do your drug cards ahead of time try to stay a step ahead if you fall back even a day you will not do so well so just stay positive and study!! I don't know much about Sheridan sorry I went to mcfatter good luck!!

So graduation was good, since I registered for the nclex a month ahead I got my ATT the day after the school sent my name... 2 weeks after graduation I did my IV THERAPY class and I just took my nclex today!!! According to Pearson vue trick I passed. Cut off at 85 questions I finished in an hour and a half it was HARD! I cried when I saw the first question lol GOOD LUCK! How is everything graduation should be any day right??

And no you don't have to pass any of the hesi''s. (Unless you failed a section) other than that doesn't matter hey try and say you need to pass so you get a better score and raise their rankings as a nursing program but it's not mandatory but they might start making it because most of us half ass it and their scores must be dropping

YESSSS we had to pay for our decorations and what not kind of funny... We have to pay but have no say I'm anything.... A bunch of bulll!!!! Too and we didn't run into each other! Wah! We're done! Tomorrow is our last clinical and I'm skipping cause I have a few hours to spare. No school Monday, Tuesday we go in for some paper work and Wednesday is rehearsal! I paid for my nclex back on October 16 just did my finger prints so I'm ready to go just waiting for them to send our names. I don't know if I like that same date thing then it's like an ambush of nurses tryin to get jobs all at the same time. One of my friends from the previous block took her nclex it cut off at 85 and she had 25 select all!!! My other friend unfortunately had 205 she said most of it was things we didn't really go over.. Lots of questions about chemical war fair and anthrax she had some out in order questions about skills like catheter eye drops etc. after hearing all of that I am now scared! She also said every drug was on there we NEVER learned except Coumadin and that's the 3rd time I e heard that from someone so if you have the lpn pdq tiny booklet go over the drugs I'm there seems like they would be on the test.. Also heard to focus on hypertension and diabetes

Hey everyone how's it going at Atlantic? Just stopping by to say we only have 2 tests left!!! Graduate and hesi exit 2! Exactly one month util graduation November 14!! Can't wait!!!!!

The passing rates are according to the state boards for students who passed the nclex not from the schools themselves sheridan has a terrible passing rate. That's crazy that people say mcfatter is ghetto lol furthest thing from. Sheridan in the other hand is def ghetto went and saw with my own eyes. Best way to choose a school is by their board pass rates. BC is up in the 90s I. Def going there always has been my first choice. Not to mention they are finishing ier second new building for thnursing program. Once that's done no one ill be able to compete with them. I was looking into excelsior I actually heard from someone who graduated from there she says its the best choice she made but I'm really iffy on the whole online thing. Do you have to pass the hesi? The pharm was hard not going to lie. The med surg wasn't so bad you'll be surprised how good you'll do. I'm glad we got to see how different the schools are from each other throughout the year, can't be,I'd've were almost done, 89 days until our graduation nov 14. Can't wait I'm ready to take this nclex and get a job. He's anyone else heard about excelsior? Seems too good to be true

HEY been in block 3 for a week now.. super boring basically the teacher just reads straight from the book so during class i do all of my work and drugs etc. took our first test did great. we start clinicals next week for maternity peds and psych pretty excited. Hesi was ok passed with an 857 for med surg and got like 760 something in pharm luckily we didn't need an 800 on that. Im signed up for 2 classes at bc to continue my pre reqs while also still in the program until novemeber.. block 3 isn't as intense as the others and its maternity and peds, i have 2 kids so i took it upon myself to help get ahead. hows everything at atlantic? they showed us the passing rates for all 3 schools and as usual.... sheridan is like 50% SO NO ONE GO TO SHERIDAN, UNLESS YOU DONT WANT TO PASS THE NCLEX. we got 100% passing rate at mcfatter and atlatic had like 80 or 90 so def stay away from sheridan people!! not t mention they don't teach you about catheters!!!! you learn when u get to it in real life! TERRIBLE! Also Mcfatter has changed somethings around.. the school now starts at 730-2 mon-fri (doesn't affect the current students) i think they might end up switching it back because we all have been complaining for the new students because its just not able to work especially for people with children... anyway! all is well over here/ love the program glad i took this route and chose this school. for anyone trying to decide id say have mcfatter as your first choice in my opinion. and no take no for an answer no matter which route you take.

That's awesome that your doing good I'm glad! Cat believe how close we were to being in the same class. Keep me updated! We've lost 2 people so far in block 2 the other half of the class lost a few. Sad a lot were by like a point. And why am I selling it? Because I lost a lot of time with my family for it, I put a lot of hard work and time into it and I'm not giving someone a free ride especially if I don't know them.

Hey! Sorry I've been lost lol! Everything is good over here. Everyone's experiences are different in my opinion I think it's a piece of cake block 2 wasn't as hard to me as everyone who tried to scare us. Someone my classmates it is difficult just depends on the person. And yes the transition is a piece of cake because we already know everything were just missing a little detail in something and yes I've spoken to someone who said that and it makes complete sense even my teacher agrees. We have only 8 more tests left then were done with block 2 we finish July 18 I've got a B in every body system (each system has 3 or 4 tests) and I was a bad student in high school. I'm just very good with listening I don't have to really study. I usually study like for an hour and half before school. And our teacher gives us an option to sign a contract stating we do all of our homework and stuff she asks for and we get extra points on all of our tests and if u don't sign it and u failed by 1 point shell say well too bad u didn't do ur homework that's why u failed. So that's a plus. We do med pass in the beginning of block 2 with pharmacology then we start disorders. Our block 2 class splits in half for clinical half goes to plantation nursing rehab and the other half goes to memorial pembroke. We just switch may 20 so my half is in the hospital and its awesome. Each day 3 of us get to go to a specialy area for the whole day. I was in pre op last week can't wait to go to the OR like some of my classmates have previously. It's awesome I love the hospital environment! Our block 3 is a piece of cake you basically teach yourself because I've herd the teacher is no help and we go for 2 months to school and the last 2 we o 5 days a week to clinical a bunch if different places depends where your places. I'm so glad I chose this route and after I graduate in November I'm taking my boards ASAP hopefully no later than December and then I start finishing my pre Reqs for my BSN in January while I wi be working. The. After I finally get my BSN I will be applying to medical school and go for my doctor but that's a long way away! But that's all I see in my vision. It's what keeps me going and motivated! L be selling my block 2 binder to any McFatter students. With all of my notes and assignments it def helps! It's amaing how much we learn. I'm sti surprised at the things I know and can pass around to friends and family. My husband actual knows a lot from studying with me and my 3 year old daughter knows some terms her favorite is pyrosis lol! Don't know if I've shared but when we are in the nursing home I got to give my first shot of insulin, draw it up and everything. Also we got to do accu checks alone we've done a mlion! And yesterday at the hospital I have my second injections, it was heparin. Pretty cool! Can't wait to finish and as soon as I pass boards ill be getting certified in iv therapy and all of the other certifications were able to get. I can't wait. Also our school reimburses you if you pass the nclex I'm sure Atlantic does too since they're sister schools! Hope all is well! If it gets too difficult don't even think about quitting just think how bad you want this and how much time and dedications you've already put into it!

Yes it's a semester short due to not having to take all of the classes which is basically missing a semester it's 3 instead of 4. And I love my teacher I learn just as much from her and having her be nice is a plus. I think it's a piece of cake so far and the transition program is also. So choosing this route first was def the best decision. Where's you go for block 1 clinics at atlantic?

The difference between the generic and transition is we get to skip 1 semester I forgot which it was. And yes I took the hesi it didn't count for us so I just rushed I got a 767 and that's with stuff we didn't learn on it. 800 s passing and alot of people in my class did get in their 800s. We got to go on elsevier and do practice case studies which help with the hesi if u have access to that. It's like a mini nclex basically. We get to go to memorial for clinicals I'm so excited because that's where I dream to work! Which hospital are u guys going to? BSF is pretty easy because its straight forward no tricks just study study and memorize! I just hate fundamentals because its so tricky. On the first pharm test it was like legislative stuff the laws and drug stages and stuff like that. Next test is the math test and ill keep updated after that. There are 2 block 2 teachers one is like everyone's nightmare and one is the nice one. I got the nice easy one thank gosh! Hope you've been buying books from amazon block 2 books are pretty expensive!

Hello! Sorry I haven't posted in a while. ********* is leaving but so far this is the first week of block 2 and it's pretty easy got a 95 on my first pharm test. The toughest part is when we get to disorders but as long as you study study study and learn the way your teacher is you will be fine. I'm terrrrrrrible at math and just discovered I actually enjoy doing the conversions! Nursing is tough but if it's what you love you can do anything! How's Atlantic going??

Also I forgot to add. The only frustrating thing about the program is we go over things we won't need while still trying to study for the things we do. For example lets say Monday we lecture about digestive Tuesday well have a test on urinary and start studying skeletal then Wednesday we start studying cardiovascular then Thursday we take our digestive test and learn about muscular then Friday we take out skeletal. Get it? Kind of confusing lol but that's why it's tough because u have one system In ur head but ur taking 2 other different system tests

Hi everyone! Sorry for not responding! I've been super busy! I attend mcfatter currently in block one. Love it! If u get in April u have the same block one teacher. April will be her last class. She's awesome she's an army nurse a tough cookie but def love her! Core is 3 weeks.. 22 tests are done during core which we do at home! We only go in once a week during the 3 week period. I started in November and our first clinical Was right around the corner! We go to clinical Mondays and Thursdays from 8-1 after core we start fundamentals 1 which is sort of hard because its more of a what would u do type of section. U know, the questions that have 4 right answers but only ONE correct answer lol. After fundamentals comes BSF body structure function which is basically 2 college semester of anatomy squeezed into 3 weeks. It was tough but easier than I thought. You'll be amazed how much u learn! We finished BSF now were finishing up fundamentals 2. After fundamentals 2 we have growth and development which only consists of about 3 tests then we move to block 2 as soon as we come back from spring break. I love it we go to school Monday- Friday 8-230 ( usually get out around 145) and of course if we have clinical we go Monday and Thursday. So far the program has been great ive met awesome new friends. It's alot of work and cramming but it's worth it. I'm getting by with 70s but that's good for Me. My teacher said if u get an 80 in nursing school it's amazing lol if u are eligible for financial aid THEY DO NOT PAY FOR BOOKS SUPPLIES OR UNIFORMS! At the end of the program u will get a left over check which will reimburse u with what you've spent and a little extra if u got books for cheap. I've used amazon mostly and have had great deals. I can't tell u which books you'll need because they possibly might change them. If uve never had anatomy before like myself I suggest u find a book or something and brush up on it. U dont come to class in uniform until u finish core. U also don't need stethoscopes until the END of BSF when u do vital signs. Hope this helps u if u plan on going to mcfatter. Ill try to check this more often for more questions I just always forget!

Oh and yes we did have to do. A portfolio with resume cover letter mission statement and letter of resignation. We have to bing our books too. Right now I carry my fundamentals study guide and book plus my binder plus my dictionary and my arm almost falls off! I will be erring a rolling back pack THIS WEEKEND!

Hey sorry I've been so busy with school and the holidays haven't had time to respond ! That's crazy that u had a core work book we didn't have that just the book and our quizzes online. Did u have to go to class for core (not sure if u already mentioned it) we move pretty quickly do about 3 different units a week while taking tests for the last weeks units so its quite crazy. We will be finished with the nursing assistant portion of block one January 14 which is when we start our clinicals. I can't wait! We also don't need any supplies like stethoscope or any of that until later on. Half of the class including me failed our first test because she wrote directions at the BOTTOM of the test and we didn't read them so we got a few problems wrong. The tests keep getting more hard . The hardest so far was on mobility but our next text which is elimination of the bowel and urinary is going to be verrrrrry hard! Luckily our teacher babies us and if we do bad she will still pass us as long as she sees us trying and as long as we pass the BSF portion. We finish block 1 sometime in March. My friend is currently in block 2 and she says its ridiculously hard! Not looking forward to that. So how has school been so far? Is ur teacher nice? Did u migrate towards a little group of friends? How have ur core quizzes been?? Details!

Jeeze CPR is 2 days!? Ours was probably like 3 hrs max. And our assignments were all due the last day of the 3 weeks. That's great that u like it. So do u have to go to class everyday ? We have 3 tests next week and a take home text also due next week everything were learning right now is pretty simple. Monday Wednesday and Friday are our tests and Tuesday we have a bathing lab where we wash each other and Thursday we have a movement lab. Basically what we do in class is write notes from the power point.. Then go on a break around 930 then come back take more notes and watch some videos then lunch and then a little more notes and go home.. We've been going home early like around 130/2 our teachers super nice and she "baby's" us but she's sooooooooo unorganized but it's fun I love it already have my little "group" of friends and study people we start out clinicals in January and after jan 14 we can take the CNA boards if we want to

I bought my fundamentals book and study guide and medical dictionary which would be $165 from school I paid $75 (used) and that includes $17 of expedited shipping. I used amazon but u can use half.com or chegg.com and sometimes barnesandnoble.com

I go to mcfatter and I'm just now starting block one but I love my teacher she has her moments but overall she's awesome and whatever U aka she always answers.my friend is in block 2 she said its very tough but mcfatter is way more lenient than Atlantic so I think u should try again especially since u can skip the entire block 1. U should get on that ASAP before my group starts block 2. Also I'm buying my books online it's 2 times more cheap than the book store!!! Get ur book list and buy them NOW online before its too late

It's not really wasting money cause u need it anyway and u should be able to buy them whenever u want so if u choose to read early u can. And yeah when I went to Atlantic I got that packet idk why they didn't give u it. I'm so excited. We had to come in Tuesday for hand washing gowning and to watch some videos but I Couldn't make it cause my husband was in the hospital and my teacher didn't seem to like that but she let me come in alone Thursday and I just watched the 2 videos on Hippa and blood borne pathogens then the next time we go in is dec 7 and that's for CPR certification then Dec 10 we turn in our portfolios and dec 11 we officially start block one. I'm really interested in knowing if Atlantic allows u to stay home like us

No they don't allow u to buy anything until u NEED It. Since we start fundamentals dec 12 we can't buy then until dec 11 until our core grades are in and we passed. It's so dumb because its going to be so packed and possibly sold out

Yeah I'm using my friends I also have her BSF book (body structure function) but for the fundamentals book it comes with a workbook so u can't really barrow it cause there's no way to just get the workbook or maybe u can find it online not 100% sure
