  1. I finally got my acceptance letter from UM late October 2013 and I am completing all of the requirements, i.e. immunization records, background check etc. It was totally worth the wait, I am so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Hello everyone, I have been searching high and low for scholarships and was not aware of this one, I missed it. .
  3. Wow, that is great. I'm still waiting on results ...
  4. Welcome... And enjoy.
  5. I had all of my vaccination but if would take a month to get them from the location I originally had them so my doctor did some blood work to show that I had the immunity in my system. Right now the only thing I had to get was the flu shot, Hep B series, and the meningitis shot. I think the stressful one to worry about is the fingerprints and background check, they say it can take up to 12 weeks to get the results to them...
  6. I totally agree:geek:... I think UM has a lot to offer as well.
  7. You're welcome... Enjoy
  8. We are not allowed to paste the information on the forum. I messaged the link to you. Enjoy :-)
  9. Yes, that is what I did today. I sent them a cashiers check.
  10. I received my Certification of Admission today, I am so excited
  11. You're welcome but I did not create the page & they will not allow me to post the link in the forum. I will message it to you. Please let me know if it works for you.
  12. WOOOOOOOW!!!!!!!!!! How exciting! I think we get our next packet in November!
  13. For those who do not know. The new Facebook group has been created for the Accelerated Nursing Program 2013. The name is University of Miami - Accelerated BSN 2013
  14. Oh that is wonderful... I work for Lee County EMS, I do the billing and coding for the ambulance transports.
  15. :up:Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. I updated my FAFSA, paid my 300.00 deposit, uploaded my picture for my UM ID, accessed my UM E-mail account, and started on my immunization records. I e-mailed someone for CPR classes at work but I did not get a response yet. Ok, so what is the BLS certification? I have not heard of that yet.
  17. Try this and see if you can access it: University of Miami - Accelerated BSN 2013
  18. Where do you work at?
  19. I am sorry, I still cannot find it. Can you copy and paste the link?
  20. I might be incorrect but I believe that MDC only offers an associates degree in nursing, but I might be wrong. This is why I did not choose this school. Another factor, I was not able to do an application online, the office told me that I would have to come to Miami just to apply. I currently live on the west coast of FL. I liked the idea that I could apply online and begin to see results with UM. I also applied to Barry University after I applied to UM. Another advantage that drew me to both of these schools was the fact that I did not have to take the GRE or TEAS test.
  21. So I was just thinking... Sallie Mae will give me a loan to cover my tuition, books, and living expenses. He told me that when I call back I must have a budget in mind... Has everyone here already created a budget for their financial aid? I figure everyone is in the same boat as myself and will need to prepare for another loan since we already have a bachelors degree. I only have 19,000 left from my federal loan and the entire program is 41,000.
  22. I ended up with a real estate agent. I think that is your best bet. And it does not cost you anything to have one. They will do the research once you give them your budget and they can take you around from there....
  23. Yea, that is a lot of money but thankfully I currently have a job and I can pull some money from there. We will not hear anything from financial aid until mid November.
