I will probably stick with 250 as my frame of reference, since I seem to be seeing that a fair amount. Thanks for your help! And we were assigned the reading for this chapter and given a worksheet to answer, but lecture is not until Tuesday. So, it is a a little backwards

Hi, I am a first semester nursing student and we are learning about nutrition/tube feedings right now. I have a worksheet I am working on, but the book does not seem to be very helpful in that is only gives descriptions, but not specific actions to take. The question I need clarification on is: "A patient is receiving PEG tube feeding at 60mL/hr. The nurse checks the residual and aspirated 150cc or undigested feeding. What action should the nurse take next?" My problem is that my book only talks about what PEG tube feeding is, but does not give an explanation as to what is an acceptable volume for gastric residuals. I have tried using Google to get some help and have gotten a few different answers. The first approach was to multiply the amount given by 2 (60x2=120), and what would be used as a guideline. Or I have also been reading that anything below 250cc is acceptable. So, in the case of my question, would 150cc be an acceptable amount since it's below 250, or does that value need intervention since it is above 120? And if it does need intervention, is stopping the feeding the an appropriate action? Any clarification would be helpful! :)

I was also accepted to the palm bay/spring program. I was trying to find the facebook group but had no luck, I guess because it is a closed group?

I made my appointment this morning (I'll be seeing some of you at the 1:30 time slot!), but I called back because I wanted to get a feel for the interview process since they're expecting everyone to pay 100$ for the background check to even interview. I read on here that the information session said an interview means you are provisionally accepted, but I just wanted to make sure that I am not spending 100$ for a 50/50 chance. I was especially nervous after the immunization e-mail was sent out this morning which made sound like we were still being narrowed down a lot. The lady on the phone was actually kind of rude and would not share any details about where the interviewees stand. The only thing she semi-confirmed was that it would be about 100 people between the two campuses interviewing, and I think she said 37 seats for each campus. So, I am guessing that they really do have to narrowed down fairly well. I keep telling myself that since there are only 6 interview time slots and the max amount of people in a group was said to be six that they pretty much have picked who they want. Has anyone else tried asking them questions about where we stand? I think it is fair to ask if they are expecting everyone to have a background check done, but the lady seemed less than willing to tell me anything. I guess they want to keep a bit of mystery about it so we don't walk in like we already have the spot.

I received an email inviting me for an interview, and received it exactly at 5pm. I applied to the Cocoa program, I thought the interviews would be held at the specific campus, but mine is in Orlando. Are the interviews for the other campuses all on the same day (mine is Tuesday 10/30)? Also, has anyone heard anything about what to expect? I am nervous about the interview/questions, but I am excited to meet everyone on the 30th!

I am about to take the TEAS V next Wednesday. I have the ATI Study Book and the McGraw-Hill book with the 5 practice tests. I noticed in the ATI book for questions about converting (for example, how many kg in a pd) they do not give you the conversion factor (1kg = 2.2 pds), but in the McGraw Hill book they will give you the conversion factor in the question. I have no problem with the actual math part of it, but I do not have all the conversion factors memorized. Does anyone know if they include the conversion factor in the question on the TEAS or if I need to have them memorized?
