Howdy ya'll! I've been studying for the TCRN since early January, and have used solheims and STN for material. I just took the BCEN 150 practice question test, and I got crushed on it (103/150). I didn't do bad at all on the CEN, but if that practice test is anything like the actual TCRN test, im screwed. Anyone have any experience or knowledge on this?

That's an interesting perspective i really haven't thought of. No, as far as i know there is no emergent need for her to leave. She actually contacted me a week ago, and she's leaving on the 18th. I mean it's not like he's going to be alone. She does have grown kids that will help him out, of course. Sorry for leaving that out. She said she would just be more comfortable with somebody with medical knowledge around. I had originally offered to help out with minor things if they ever needed it, such as lift help, If i was around and her and her kids needed it. I honestly didn't think i'd be acting as a home health nurse for 5 days.

Believe me, those are all questions i asked myself. I kind of feel bad for offering before i sat back and thought of the legal implications of this scenario. I think i just wanted to help because they're super nice, and friends of the family. I also beleaguered the fact that this man is about 6'4' and 300+. All signs just pointed to "nope", just needed to make sure i wasn't crazy.

Howdy! My moms neighbor knows I'm ED RN, and i was recently approached by her to care for her husband while she is out of town for 5 days. I said i would be happy to help, but then she started listing off the things i would be doing for him. The gentleman has multiple co-morbidities, is a very high fall risk, and will require a decent amount of attention. The care part i can handle, it just seems like a HUGE liability on me to be doing this kind of care outside of my facility, if god forbid, something bad were to happen. My nursing judgement is just telling me that this is all around not a good situation to put myself in. What do you all think? I'd appreciate any input!

well guys maybe i spoke too soon. i got hired on at the Los Colinas Medical Center Emergency Department. No its not trauma central central, but i am still smiling from ear to ear and its a very nice input. Thank you all for the support and advice!

Seeing as how ive only had these two professional interviews in my life, it might be. I have 3a sifferent versions of my resume. 1 for CC, 1 for ER, and a deatailed page and a half ER resume.

ive sat sat here and watched almost half of my classmates get a good job in either ICU or ED. I am a 2 time iraq veteran medic with ATLEAST trauma II and ICU experience, as well as the nursing school bells and whistles. i have applied for pretty much every ER and ICU position around the D/FW metroplex, and nothing. i actually got 2 interviews at parkland, the number one trauma center in dallas, but i apparently i screwed it up. i cant understand why i dont have a job but my classmates have jobs with no prior medical experience besides nursing school. jealous? damn right. angry? youre **** right. what am i doing wrong. 100+ jobs applied

oh yeah sorry i just got my RN license in the mail! :) i appreciate all the input ladies/gents. its just frustrating for me right now because im pretty eager to practice medicine again.
