Hi, 50 is the new thirty. I entered a nursing program at 48 and have no regrets. I lasted through 3 rounds of weeding out processes to graduate. My instructors were close to my age and I worked with one of the instructors in the ED. Age should not be a factor when it comes to nursing school. I know of one person who was 65 and going through the same program as me. Her rationale was that she wanted to be able to do more with the patients and families served by the hospice she volunteered for. The hospice company helped with the cost and now she doing what she loves, providing end of life care. A
