  1. If you are in your first semester ( I assume a Bachelor's program), you have over 3 1/2 years before you even graduate, and can take board exams. No one can predict where there might be jobs by then....and where your husband will also be able to find work. I sure wouldn't worry about anything but getting through school at the moment.
  2. First of all, there is no "RN degree"....there is an Associate of Science in Nursing, and/or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. "RN" means "Registered Nurse", which is a professional license that is obtained by those who pass a board exam. If you want to pursue a degree part-time, I would look into on-line programs, as far as academic classwork. However, once you are doing clinical rotations, your schedule will be determined by the program. Be sure the program you select is accredited by the ANA.
  3. And what is your point? In the real world you will work much harder than this. If you think this is too much for you, maybe you should have pursued a different career....and you're not even working nights, weekends, and holidays for 12+ hour shifts yet, as ou will do as an RN. My first job with a BSN was on a cardiac/tele floor, and I had 12-14 patients.
  4. Welcome to nursing!!! This place won't be the only facility that will "screw" you....and will disrespect you as a person and as an employee. If I were you, I'd start working on a degree in something else ASAP---- and you will be amazed at how in a real "profession"., you are treated with respect.
  5. Charting beforehand is unprofessional, illegal, and in my opinion, immoral.
