  1. If we are doing pediatric sedation, the IR nurse is with the child we feed the tubing from outside the MRI scanner door! No problems thus far! Otherwise the nurse sending the patient for any other MRI is to send the pt with the extension tubing already in place to feed into the room.
  2. I work in a 500 bed Level I trauma center. We run one IR room with one RN and 4 rad techs. We cover the entire imaging dept. We have 9 RN's staffing around the clock except weekend and holidays. One RN covers the night shift. We cover call rotating the holidays and cover the weekend call every 9th weekend. No weekday calls unless our night nurse is on vacation, then we just pick it up. By the way we perform around 1200 procedures per year.
