  1. I'm 39 and I just started nursing school. I feel that I am a better student now than when I was younger, I think because I am now more serious and focused on school. I don't have kids but there is one girl in my program that also has 4 kids like yourself, her husband and mother do a lot with the kids. There are also a few girls who are single moms, one with 3 kids and one with 2. I think it is possible if you have a good solid support system. But know right off the bat that nursing school is demanding and be prepared for it.
  2. My local community college is costing me about 10,000 for an ADN program.
  3. Wow, 65 applications! I'm glad you got an offer at your first choice. Congrats!
  4. I'm a little curious: how long did it take everyone to find a job right out of nursing school? And what was your very first job as an RN/LPN?
  5. I just finished my first 7 weeks (our classes are only 7 weeks long and then it's on to the next set of classes) I worked full time, it is definitely doable if your employer is flexible, you just have to stay on top of things and never ever fall behind. While I did get A's in my classes for the first 7 weeks, it was really stressful. In order to pass our classes we have to have a B or better (which I think is pretty typical). So I guess there are a lot of factors to take into consideration. That being said, I'm cutting my hours to part time (20 hours) from here on out. I hope it all works out for you. :)
