  1. GI experience as an RN? For this Residency program, you need to be a new-grad RN w/ less than 6-months of RN experience at most.
  2. I hope to be in either the CVICU, SICU, or Trauma.
  3. Hello everyone. I too applied for the Winter 2013 Vanderbilt Nurse Residency Program - Adult Critical Care track. I'm from Boston, MA. Graduated from the University of Massachusetts in Boston. I'm excited about this Program and it has been in my thoughts since I first learned about it over a year ago. Good luck everyone!
  4. Lets clear something up here: You are a licensed Nurse since last month July 2012, right? And you are down/disappointed because you can not find a job thus far after 1 month of searching, right? Have some stronger skin man. 1 month of job seeking is nothing so far Some people search for months, including myself, and some even years. Do your research.
  5. Hello everyone. I wanted your opinion in regards to this nurse to patient ratio. I'm a new graduate Nurse and this would be my first job as an RN. I'm excited, but nervous at the same time. Just recently I was offered a position at a LTC facility. Overnights, 8-hour shifts, 11p-7:30a. There are 72 residents on this particular unit, divided into two wings. There are 2 nurses for 72 patients, each nurse will be responsible for 36 patients. How will I accomplish anything with such a big workload? If you work or have worked in LTC, can you please tell me the usual duties and routines of this environment. Thanks.
